It's legal as long as you aren't trying to make a profit off of them.

I highly doubt he gets much from the adds. If you figure in server costs he is actually spending far more then he makes from the adds. thats not profit. But he does this because he likes halo ce and knew there was a need for it.

why would you even want to put the maps here on another site? Just post a link there that links to the map you are talking about. halomaps gets fast downloads and is reliable so i dont' see why you would upload it somewhere else. Unless of course it's a new map that is highly popular and in that cause you would want mirors.

Yes you can host them on your own website as long as you do not charge for them.

The websites have been in the red from day one even with the ads. This was never meant to be a for profit website.

Also Microsoft has stated that ads were ok on websites and such for halo content but that you can't say 5$ for the ''huge map package'' or something like that.
