CLS GRUNT, I think you should scale the map down a little bit. Its a tad off scale. A little less Reflective (textures), and rounder edges, it'll be pretty good, but it needs to be brighter (light), use an IES Sun.

Dunno about scale need a second opinion. Textures arnt reflective, thats called bumpmaps. I craped up something with the cubemaps and brightness setting giving the shader a overshiny look. the edges are round, you need to be closer to acctually notice.

This is what I ment when I told you you didnt know what you were talking about. anybody with small knowledge of ce KNOWS That tool wont accept those things, and even if it did the entire map would be overbright. I dont have a proper sky those are not the proper lightmaps

Tool can do a lot, you just have to know how. (I will not get into this at this moment, this is off topic.)

The map looks nice but I don't think it should be so shiny. Also, get a new texture for the sand or make this one look better.

Im not angry, or hyped up.
And another statement that proves you know nothing about ce. Even if you did get that pass tool(you didnt) It wouldnt work ingame, or in guerilla, or sapien. It dosen't recognize what it is or what to do with it. Basically its like giving a baby a car a expecting it to be able to drive.

They're almost exactly the same, just one has clouds in the sky, not on the side :| The sky in Grunt's also has the Halo ring, which makes it look great. Trust me, it's fine.

The sand does go out of the ring but only slightly, its actually higher and covers up more of the tower in the real thing. Actually the ring needs to be moved down a little, I think too much of the ramp is showing.

I just didnt compile with explict alpha, so the alpha channel didnt work. the sand your currently seeing is the detail map.

The sceenshot was mine, and it was taken by me because Grunt can't render shaders for some reason.

It seems that every freaking time someone crit's your stuff, your excuse is "THIS RENDER IS FROM APRIL OF 2002, BUT IM GONNA SHOW IT TO U ANYWAY AND GET MAD IF U DONT LIKE IT" How about you show us something that's new and good, instead of constantly giving excuses. Frankly, you barely show us anything, and when you do it isn't very good. I don't map at all whatsoever, but I'm just giving my .02.

And ironically, I actually do like your completed works, so don't take this personally. It's just the way you present your WIP's which I disagree with.

^What the hell is that about? That picture is fresh from Halo from today, Grunt never gave the excuse 'IT'S FROM APRIL 2002! BEFORE HALO CE CAME OUT!' He only was pointing out he'd made an edit pointing out his mistake. No need to blow up like that. And also, the only things to show are the animations, which I have, and the map. He showed you the map today, and you're still whining I see. What do you want? He hasn't put my animations in-game yet, and they aren't all finished anyway. I'm working on them, and I've finished two sets this whole weekend. I'm going as fast as I can, and Grunt was giving me some time. It will be finished soon enough.

Well I only post what I find completed and pleasing to myself, so I rarely post. when someone asks about a project like valhalla, I post the latest render I have. In this case I do not want to open the max file just the show the minor fixes people point out, when some major ones are still there.
When I post something new is when im asking for crit, when I post something old is when im telling people that a project is already in production. Ohh and your post has nothing to do with my pic >_>

aye it is the d40 sky; but its probably just a 'stock' sky; seriously guys, CHILL. What i currently see is H3 fanboys fighting over frivolous matters. Remember it is still a WIP and will be improved on. By all means you should crit and offer suggestions, but there is no need to tear each other apart if you disagree with it.
Also even if the crit / suggestion has already been established, there is no need to go psycho just because it was previously stated / resolved. There is also no need for anyone to get defensive over anything anyone says here...
