OK, so I want to edit the single player campaign, so I extracted the scenario tags, and made everything fit in Guerilla. However, when I open it in Sapien, it just sits there for like 15 minutes, and I got tired of waiting and closed it. I know that a10 has a lot of tags, but I'm not sure it should take 15 minutes. Do I just wait for it to finish, or is there something else I have to add?

Unless you have a really slow computer or a really big map (like bigger then any of the original campaign maps) it's not going to take anymore then 3 minutes. The only campaign map you can edit is b30, all the other ones are protected and won't open unless you have magical skills. Make sure you rip all the maps before b30 because it uses some of their tags and won't work without them.

CMT edited all the campaign maps, and other people have converted the campaign to Halo Custom Edition. All I want is first to convert it myself so I know that it works. Then I can edit it

For editing, did you first extract the scenario file from a10, and just edit it? Because I want to know if I can edit it just by extracting the scenario file

I'm pretty sure they aren't protected. I can extract them perfectly fine. It's just that it takes a long time to load, and by then I give up. I'm just wondering if I'm supposed to wait it out, as it stops responding if it continues to load longer than 3 minutes

And, Yes, CMT Tags are always protected unless they want you to get a certain map for their Tags. Which is not going to happen any time soon. I don't think it is a Vista administrator problem, as I can edit most MP maps. Also, I am not taking stuff from CMT, but I would like to.

I know, I've tried, but I'm wondering if it should take that long to open a campaign scenario in Sapien

Ok, now it just downright crashes. I open it, and after 30 seconds, it says that Sapien for HaloPC has caused an error and will now close. At least it's more like XP

The only campaign missions you can edit are silent cartographer, 343 GS, and library, but the last 2 need some monitor animation tags that aren't extracted. All other maps will get "ACCESS_VIOLATION with sapien. There are other ways, but i don't know them.

How? You extracted them with HEK+ from the halo pc sp maps? What version of HEK+ do you have? How did you extract them? I went through every level and extracted every folder recursivly and have no missing tags, but only those 3 levels work.

I don't think I have any missing tags, it's just that it takes a long time for Sapien to start up, and I never finished waiting it out. When I try to compile it with tool, without editing, it says 08.23.08 12:31:47 tool pc 01.00.00.0609 ---------------------------------------------- 08.23.08 12:31:47 reference function: _write_to_error_file 08.23.08 12:31:47 reference address: 42ca20 08.23.08 12:31:47 Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map' 08.23.08 12:31:48 EAX: 0xFFFFFFFE 08.23.08 12:31:48 EBX: 0x0822E101 08.23.08 12:31:48 ECX: 0x00129F60 08.23.08 12:31:48 EDX: 0x000002CC 08.23.08 12:31:48 EDI: 0x00129F60 08.23.08 12:31:48 ESI: 0x00000000 08.23.08 12:31:48 EBP: 0x00129E38 08.23.08 12:31:48 ESP: 0x00129E28 08.23.08 12:31:48 EIP: 0x76E29A94, C3 8D A4 24 ????? 08.23.08 12:31:48 EXCEPTION halt in \halopc\haloce\source\tag_files\tag_groups.c,#3142: offset>=0 && offset+size<=data->size

I'm pretty sure that's what cmt did.

How would you turn the extracted BSP into a scenario? I've tried creating a scenario without anything but the BSP
