I typed in a long description of my original plans for this map, but for some reason they didn't show up. Anyway, this was supposed to be a beta release of an AI version of one of my two favorite maps, the other being Coldsnap. I originally created this to play one-on-one or team up with my son against the Covenant or Marines, all the while trying to fix or improve on some of the things that didn't work quite right on the original Extinction map.

My goal is to make this a very fun and challenging map to play solo against the Covenant or Marines, and try to CTF in as short a period of time as possible. I will try to incorporate any suggestions into a Final AI version of the map to release in the near future.

Keep in mind that there is No AI map that I know of that will sync in multiplayer.

go ahead, do wat u want. but its not our fault if it lags from over use of AI

Depends on your machine spec, and how you have tweaked the video settings. Haven't experienced Lag on newer machine, but old PC lags unless set to 640x480.

trying expanding the covie more, isntead of major elites maybe put some grunts and jackals,cmts rangers whould be a nice touch for this map 2,maybe put some flood between the ships or maybe even inside the ships

Flood inside the trench. When someone falls, they will be attacked by invisible foes!

Stealth flood = Epic win.

Make some actor variants of stealth flood with weapos if you use them. Just extract them from d40.

I've been developing another large map variant with a good number of hunters, blue and green rocket grunts, elite majors, and elite needlers attacking an isolated squad of marines...its a very intense battle. The trapped marines try to drive some hogs around and fire the guns, while elites cruise around in ghosts and wraiths. There are also phantoms and a scarab. Its a bit humorous watching the marines yell "Lets Roll" just about the time a rocket sends them reeling!

On the other side of the map there is a marine air base with several jets, longsword, Kestral and Pelican, several buildings, scorpions. Marines man turrets while wave upon wave of banshees attack from the mountains. The red and blue bases are set up identically at the other opposite corners with buildings, planes and hogs. I find it is fun to cruise around in a hog letting the marines shoot down the Banshees as they dive bomb you. A few other surprises on the map.

I hope to release this in the next week, before I start tweaking Extinction_AI. Problem with Extinction_AI is that it is currently just short of 128 MB.

Oh, This idea sounds Great. A large map would be great for AI aslong as it is not over-used and not too laggy.

I suggest having flood on the bridge, Make a spawn point for infection forms on the bottom of the bridge to simulate the flood "Emerging from the depths" with some combat form spawn along the bridhe edge's

Sniper Tower
Put a few Sniper Towers for Sniper marines to shoot at covenant and flood.

Frontal Battle Team Make a squad of respawning marines armed with Shotguns and Assault Rifles spawn at the Human side of the bridge and attack the flood/covenant

Covenant Strike Team
Aswell as a Squad of marines make a squad of maybe Two Elites, One minor armed with Plasma Rifle, One major armed with Needler. A few Grunts with Plasma Pistols and a few Jackals With Needlers (They pwn)

Hunter Squad In the center of the bridge or behind the covenant squad have a team of two or three Hunters that attack the flood/marines

Marine Snipers and Crewmen In the Crashed Human Ship have Crewman wondering around the destroyed bridge being attacked by Flood infection forms. While on the Sniper points have marines with a long firing range snipe at enemies on the map.

Covenant Shipmaster and Crew
In the Covenant Ship have a Zealot and two or so elites fighting flood infection forms in the Covenant Controll room.

Flood-ridden Make flood combat forms, carrier forms and infection forms spawn around the map.

Keep in mind that for everything added at this point, something has to be removed...the map is just about maxed out in size. I was able to find a bunch of tags listed for things that were not on the map, and that did free up some memory. I liked the idea of something guarding bridge passage on both sides, and also attacking you in the trench.

Did you realize you can take a ghost through the vehicle teleport to the top of the ship, and sneak into the ship through the teleport there?
