Lead is how you have to aim in front of someone to hit them, due to Halo PC's netcode. Just play online to get used to different leads (you're ping is probably never the same). Making a thread to try and decrease botters also won't happen, and we will not have another discussion about them.

I doubt botters will stop just because we have tutorials.

lol

A message board thread is not going to stop botters. Botting is easier than training, so people will bot. Simple as that.

ok leading means shooting in front of the player you want to kill. Lead is affected by how high your ping is the higher it is the farther you lead your shots in front of the player and the lower your ping the closer you lead your shots. Also when someone jumps to the right you lead your mouse up and to the right. Simple!

Thats hard though, isnt it easier to bot, and then you dont have to lead? :/

Bot programs actually have to be adjusted according to ping also. They don't automatically know how far to aim ahead, you have to set the value yourself.

No, because that's Single Player. You don't have to lead your shots. It only helps you train to be a better host -.-

no, because as host you still have to lead. You have no ping to the server but other people still have ping so it still lags.

Wrong, the exact fact that you have 0 ping means you don't have to lead.

You can join a ded server you're hosting as long as you are on a different pc.

I join dedi servers hosted on the same PC all the time... that is how i get like 12 ping in my servers... just change your ingame ports. Also I remember way back when i played halo trial there was a program that automatically found the lead you have to lead by judging you ping. I remember you click a button and it tells you are far you have to lead infront of the person...

Here are some things that I learned:

1) Move and aim at the same time.
---Seriously, if you can't move and aim at the same time (assuming you have no physical or serious mental disabilities that could prevent you from playing the game properly), you are incredibly SAD. I would recommend that people who suffer from this should simply play single player on easy difficulties...

2) Learn to lag shoot and stop playing only on games that you serve.
---I am so sick of players who claim that they "own me", but are playing on their crappy little server set for 16 players on a chewed up phone cable, and there are 6-10 people in the server (lets say I joined it for a little 1v1). When you are the host, you NEVER have to lag shoot (assuming that you are playing on the machine that is hosting in a non-dedicated server). It is an unfair advantage and it can screw you over big time if you grow spoiled from it.
The lag shooting concept is simple: You shoot where you think the player is "now", because what you see is actually a fraction of the second in the past in a Halo netgame. In general, more lag = farther you have to lag shoot, and harder to hit. But laggy players also tend to warp... They can have this "all over the screen" effect that is very terrible. In Halo, a ping is generally playable if it is under 200.

3) Play Halo PC more often and stop playing strange mods.
---Best way to improve is to use a balanced weapon set. Halo's stock set is pretty balanced (though, the pistol is overpowered somewhat). Snow Grove's set is not quite as balanced, but better than coldsnap at least. The players there also are USUALLY not as good. The margin is big enough that one can dominate on Halo PC (to an extent), but get owned all the way to hell and back on CE. It seems, however, that the age difference doesn't seem to be much different, but both are full of little 10 year olds who probably are failing in school.

4) Be nice.
---No, I'm not saying be a kind, generous person at all times online, I'm saying that when you are killed, don't go all... uh.... hold on... let me get this impression done right...

...it will be in beige... read at your own risk...

..."***** noob ass faggot **** face cocksukkin piece of **** cum licking nigga ass......" We don't need to know the rest. Nobody does. Nobody will want to play against someone who says what I have typed in beige whenever they are killed. Actually, anyone who types that PERIOD is usually just regarded as some little kid trying to be a "big boy" on the internet. It doesn't make you better, it doesn't make you tougher, it makes you look stupid. It makes you look like a noob. It makes you a target. Trust me, I target those individuals with great pleasure, especially when they fail, which is almost always. If you are a good player, don't go blending yourself with these immature little brats... if this gets edited out by Dennis because of the text example in beige, well... too bad I guess.

More *possibly* to come.

edit: so he really DID actually get some kills off of you, it seems. How did he take it? :P

Well seeing as im Elite/Trainer-Recruiter rank in my clan. I have to know alot about the best ways to train people.

The way I train people is i teach them to make quick use of Team chat. And to use tactics and strategies and think out plans for battle. I also train them to never use the same route to the target atleast three times in a row. Because then you become predicatable (Teleports of CMTSnowgrove).

And lulzorz and Selentic pwning daniels ass.

well...

heres how i do it.

i simply wiggle my fingers, (im serious)

then i start to play loggin in as my main account "an asian"

oh btw! i change my controls too:
instead of tab being switch weapons i change mine to q
and instead of e to pick up weapons and drive i change it to c,
then my e button is to talk to everyone, and t is to talk to team

my flashlight button is then turned to b
and thats it.

plus i suggest you train using all weapons, pistol being the most.
you dont need to train alot with rockets or fuel rod though.

i used to love plasma nading, but now i only do it in halo 2 and 3,
halo 1 explosion takes to long, so then either someone can take the kill before you or the dude kills you before he dies lol

pistol is a good weapon to use.
heres a tactic i sometimes use

i use a sniper to take out their shields, quickly switch to pistol and fill em with lead.
lead is bullets... fyi...

my controls are:

Switch weapons: Scroll Down
Switch Grenades: Scroll Up
Action: R
Flashlight: Q
Zoom: Z
Talk All/Team: T/Y
Melee: Middle Mouse Button

Also, the most you should practice is aim. Then grenade leading. Then using Sniper, pistol, plasma pistol, plasma rifle, fuel rod gun, assault rifle, rocket, shotgun.

Ugh Grenades^^^ Learn to master the arc of grenade throwing and you will be unstoppable.

Nade behind a cliff they come jumping out just headshot them with a pistol... its like hunting ducks...

Lol, when someone kills me in Halo 3, they usally have to wonder if I threw a grenade and stuck them, because I have gotten like 400 kills from that alone.

Halo CE is hard because of leading.... and the fact that there is no BR.

here is how i train ppl wit sniper rifles and how i learned and how im always win.u need devs though

ok u spawn weps and there will be a skull. blast skull where ever while ur trainy is standing on a hill not looking. then u tell him to find all the skulls by shooting them on the hill. how long till they find all the skulls, the faster their reaction time is to multiple players shooting at the trainy.

then i take them to grunt_attack map and make them use nothing but sniper rifles for awhile.

then we play a match wit snipers and no shields. and if they do good they don't have to repeat the training.
normally when i train ppl they don't have to repeat the training.
