Is it possible to open a gmax file in 3ds max?

Export the model to a .3ds in gmax then you can import the .3ds into 3ds max.

How do i export it like that? Is there a script? If so, link it please. I've checked halomaps for one, but i was unlucky.

I thought you could export as .3ds in gmax? go to file>export and i think you can select .3ds.

no it only alows PSD

no the main thing with gmax is that it cant export as nuthin. its very illegal to change that, but i think if u use the grablistener or w/e (i dont use gmax) and a script then the legalitys are changed but i dunno.

Well i suppose its okay if you export to jms with bluestreak then use the jms importer for max. soo much extra work though. thank goodness i have 3ds.

FYI, the Gmax EULA no longer restricts the end user to the specific set of games for which game packs were developed when Discreet was distributing Gmax. In fact, the current Gmax EULA does not contain any game-specific language whatsoever. If somebody wishes to write a DTS export script for Gmax, there is no legal barrier to doing so.

dunno how true that is but i like it. :)

yah i tried opening the model file in photoshop, and it gave me an error XD, but seriously, the .P3D Model file can be opened up in another adobe product.
