Hey guys.

Look. I do not mean to insult anybody else who has made a single player halo map out of danger canyon, but I believe Covenant's Canyon Public Beta 1 was my favorite! Its the first SP Level that I've actually played 3 times!

Well done to it's author.

Again, NO hard feelings to anyone else's maps.

does this actually have any relevance to the game in itself besides the fact u like this map.

I was just telling the author of it that he did a good job...

Why do people always do that??? Just leave the thread alone if you don't have anything to say about it. Why would you take the time and effort to type a question like, "How is this relevant?" !!!!!????? I don't think I'll ever understand it...

I have to agree that is was a pretty well done single player level even if it was the Danger canyon map. The cut scenes were well placed and the battles enjoyable.

This is just juvenile, uncalled for and can be a reason why people might not take your statements seriously. This kind of crude reference is an indicator of an unsophisticated adolescent mind in turmoil.

I don't use big words. I don't need to post in large type, I don't ever need to try and be insulting then make it seem as if it is OK by saying "no offence" when it obviously is meant to be offensive.

You seem to have some kind insecurity about your “level of sophistication” or maybe your vocabulary since you feel I use “big words”. In any case you obviously have some kind of dislike for me personally and instead of addressing it directly have decided to argue over something as trivial as the fact that I like a particular map. So to put it simply: What is your problem and why have you started this angry discussion?

I liked this map too. It made excellent useage of open sourced tags. It proved that old user is old though :(... I could easily name where each and every individual weapon tag came from..


edit: it sure is hard restraining myself from thoroughly displaying my opinion on jeva's statements.. Im trying to be a good boy though

First off I am not mad or angry. Now let me see if I understand this: Someone changed their mind or reverted to a more civil posting style after I posted and someone else decided to download the map because he values my opinion and you are "mad tonight" for reasons undisclosed and known to only you so you decided to start an argument with me because.. because… Because why? I fail to see any reason to lash out at me because you have some unfocused adolescent anger in your life tonight.

I did nothing to offend you personally yet you opened with an attack on my character. Was it because I had the appearance of being an authority figure, I am not when it comes to what people like and dislike in maps, or was there another reason? Did I offend you in some other way that I cannot discern, was my simple affirmation of addicted2halo’s like for the map offensive in some way? It was, I thought, a simple inoffensive statement.

For whatever reason you are “mad tonight” A public forum is not the place to try to resolve it and I am not your punching bag, because I verbally strike back. I suggest you work out your undisclosed anger and frustrations somewhere else with someone else. Because I might have to pull out the old tried and true insults and make light of your mental acumen, education level, question the circumstances of your parentage or maybe go in for the kill with a “I know you are but what am I?”. Although I jest about insulting you I don’t about you taking it somewhere else.

Alright! LETS SETTLE THIS RIGHT NOW!

Dennis DID see your point! THAT WAS HIS REASON FOR IT. He DID identify that there is usually a change in the tone/mood of a topic when he posts in it, and he doesn't know exactly why, but he thinks it is because he is probably the most mature person on this whole forum.

I learned something tonight. People always think of Dennis as like a "Cop" on the forums because he controls what is said and who can stay on it. Just like a REAL COP, people on the forums are nice to him because they do not want to say the wrong thing, upset him, and get banned.

Dennis, on the other hand, does not understand exactly why everyone is always so nice. Unless there is a real issue going on, he just thinks of himself as a normal person just like you or me. He doesn't sit on his computer and monitor for people who aren't sucking up to him and ban everyone who doesn't "kiss his ass" as you said.

TO END THIS WHOLE THING ONCE AND FOR ALL, Dennis cannot and should not be held responsible for people sucking up to him. Some people just get nervous around people who have power.

That was the whole point that Jevajev was trying to make. He was trying to identify the issue of people sucking up to Dennis just because he is the Moderator. He was a little more rude than he needed to be, but that was the gist of it. Unfortunately, that is never going to change. There will always be suck ups, and Dennis will always be the Moderator.

This argument was idiotic, pointless, and quite frankly, EXTREMELY RANDOM when all I wanted to do was discuss a map that I liked.

Not to be a suck-up, but I am sorry, Dennis, for anything I may have said in the past because if I were the moderator of this site right now, I would be going crazy.

END THE WHOLE THING RIGHT NOW...but please don't lock my thread...I hate when that happens.

Thank You! I can't believe everyone likes my map so much! I am SO releasing a second beta! And, trust me, it WILL be better than the first!

I am also making a second single player map, and although it won't be done soon and doesn't relate to Covenant's Canyon's story in any way, it IS EPIC.

It wasnt my favorite single player map... But it was still good. It just bugged me the one point where I needed to kill all the flood in an area, but a parasite was hiding good, and When you forgot to block off the place with the cutscene in the tunnels. Oh, and I could see some Ai's spawning, but I don't care for that. It was still good.

I can still go on the internet every now and then, but I won't be able to map, play Halo, etc. until the day before Thanksgiving.

i downloaded the single player map yesterday.

after i finished i thought it was pretty great.

cutscenes were good, except the one with the human turning into a flood.
and the weapons were great. i liked the ar that had the halo 3 sound to it.

I thought you couldnt put spaces for SP maps.

*edit* I just played it and it rocks!, but whats Flood Nightmare? WIP?

no no no.
this map really didnt do sp the right way as far as little things go.
first off, elite rangers to not belong indoors. they are flying air support. you dont use air support indoors. second, music editing was bad. the first song was ok, but every time i fired the br (i think it was the br...) the music stopped for a second. "kill every enemy" objectives to open doors and such are never done properly, especially with flood. ai inherently hide, and get stuck. infection forms are tiny and easy to lose. do not ever include the ai encounter for the infection forms in a kill everything objective, unless the storyline actually requires you to kill infection forms. the shotgun didnt work up close at all probably because the tag is set to fire from the primary trigger marker. the biggest annoyance however, was the weapon placements. every time i went into an area, especially toward the end, it over stocked me with weapons, and it almost seemed like it was forcing weapons on me, like the sniper rifle or the rocket launcher. at one point there is a lone smg on the ground in the middle of nowhere that demands to be picked up. this annoyed me. another issue: in the part with all of the sleeping ai, why was nobody paying attention at all? why was a grunt sleeping in a hallway where the elite guard was NOT watching? why wasnt the guard pacing? why did it look the the brute was pissing into the covie box thing? i was very disappointed with the placement of objects, but the overall experience was good.... please though, dont do grunt alert again. that was retarded. good idea, but poorly executed.

i loved the grunt alert part.

it was fun... then the flood came and ruined my fun.


but i have to agree, the part where you have to kill ALL the floods to open the door pissed me off... i was running around lookin for the last flood... it was hiding on top of a tree... A TREE!!!

If you're going to make another one, make the name shorter and easier to type.

Just played that map for the first time today, best sp map i've ever played methinks.

and Flood Nightmare i'm guessing is the next map in the series. I don't think it's out.

im going to download it now! if what i hear is true i will like it!
