Basically im in the process of modeling a new map, I puposely dont want this one populated by h3mt but instead by my own public h3 weapons (and some custom ones aswell) this map will be un-protected and open to the pulic for moding and tag extraction. I am hopeing to get some honest crit on what I should change. I am also modeling various rocks and other small details to be scattered across the map a scenery. I later will be annoucing what base I will be using for this map ( ive made various bases over the months :D) now to the eye sore...I mean eye candy I have taken into consideration gameplay alot, basically the blue base will have ghosts and warthogs and various rifle weapons while the reds have more powerfull short range weapons to defend there base in capture the flag. Red team would seem to have a serious advantage at the beginning of a match, seeing as they don't have to drive up a hill to get to the other teams flag.

The base needs at least some interior, for cover, etc. or else it could be a spawn campers paradise. Also looks a little to, well, basic. I hope some trees, cover, etc is added sooner or later.

The map looks good. I would recommend keeping the red base geometry and mirroring that side of the canyon to create the blue base, thus making the canyon a u shape. This would allow you spend more time on creating landmarks that will define your map's key locations i.e. rockets spawn, os, camo or snipe hill to make it more than a simple u shaped box map. Your modeling skill is good, all that remains is the creation of spaces that will benefit the long range infantry and vehicle combat that you are looking for. I personally think you should twist around the path from redbase to bluebase so Bluebase has some room. You should also make the gap a bit longer. But that is just what I think.

What about that long path up to red base? Blue team will be taking a lot of fire while going up there even with cover, but red team could just drive vehicles(if they get any) or jump off their base straight to blue base.

You should add the tunnels from the blue side to the red side. If the blue team is going to have a base on the ground they need some advantage the other team doesn't have. Just to keep it balanced.

The tunnels I was saying to put makes the map more like Containment on Halo 2. The tunnels are connected to the bases on each side and lead to the middle. That would be perfect for this map. And also make some interior for the red base. That's a good idea, and have it continue under a bridge which is in the middle of the map. Nice call.

If Matooba open sources his mongoose (like he said he would) after yoyorastv2 is released then just use that one. the physics are much better, as well as the model, animations, textures.

You could also add an asymmetrical structure in the center favoring blue. Right now all I see from the pics are fancy cliffs and a pass that leads to an enamored platform. These areas are very basic spatially, but that is not a bad thing. The area that needs the most work however is the lower area near the blue base. It is lacking detail aside from slight hills that serve no purpose. For this map to be effective the hills must be thought of as cover that both teams use to get from one side of the map to the other. That is why I suggest the addition of an asymmetrical structure that will create a power position that serves as a defense point for blue and an offense point for red. Think of it similarly to the large hill in bloodgulch. The hill allowed red to control blue's teleport as well as locking down the base. The hill however was closer to blue thus allowing an early vehicle rush to camp red's teleport and gain control over the rocket spawn. Something that acts in a similar way to benefit both teams in an asymmetrical manner will definitely add ours of game play to your map. Please don’t misconstrue my criticism as bashing your reputation. I am only trying to help. Like I said before you have the modeling skill, it just depends on how well you apply it. And the idea of the immobile vehicles for the red base is bad idea, that would cause some major n00b sniping for the snipers coming from the blue base. Have a few vehicles, but make them something like a mongoose, that can't shoot but the passenger can.
