I've been working on my AI map, and several times I have played it I get the old exception error which crashes the halo program and makes me restart it again. This is getting annoying, and I was wondering if someone could diagnose what is happening and how to fix it.
In sapien, I get error messages (that don't affect anything I do in Sapien) that I think might be the root cause for my game crashes (this is a sampling):

Quote: 04.10.08 11:28:43 ### ERROR too many dynamic triangles requested from rasterizer
04.10.08 11:28:43 unable to allocate dynamic structure triangles.

I really don't know what that means...

Quote: 04.10.08 12:10:00 WARNING: biped marine_armored (marines/shotgun marine_armored) fell outside world and was erased

I get an occasional one of those. I'm guessing the poor sap fell through the map. Would this cause game crash?

Quote: 04.10.08 12:19:21 AI knowledge database (768 entries) is full (warns once every 30 sec)

Too much data?

Another theory I have is that there could simply be too many AI wandering around... but I've played maps with just as much and more AI with no problems. I don't even lag playing with all the AI I have on there. Please help me fix the game crashes so I can finish my AI map and upload it for some public feedback. Thanks.

the other maps probably use portals in the map so that the ai only work in such different areas. yeah you need portals so the ai knowlage is less.

I am unfamiliar with portals. I didn't find a tutorial on it (at least not with blatant tutorial searching...).

I'm modifying blood gulch, and from the tutorial it looks like you add the portals in gmax or 3ds... is it possible in any way to add them in Sapien or to open up the bloodgulch map in gmax?

you can do in gmax, just import the bsp using bsp importer.

Ok, umm, how to import existing maps into gmax?

Portals don't load up data, they just make it so the game doesn't render what you can't see and tell the game what's a room.
