135-165. Normal for me so when I rarely get 65-100 I am amazing. To many European servers on Halo PC and to many bad connecting servers on Halo CE. Most of them on CE cannot hold 16 players or it is the map that lags it up with fps.

meh, i have a horror story...
once upon a time, there was a guy who loved to play halo, well call him chains. Anyways chains loved halo and had cable, great speed and connection, the works. He was ownage on wheels, his comp was almost so good in some servers he ddint have to aim ahead, he jsut shot the friggin body and it went down! Then one day after he got home...he walked into his room and......*SCREAM*...... THERE WAS A DSL ROUTER AND MODEM!!!
so now sniahc is forced to tone his ownage donw to good servers....never again to bust a cap in the laggy asses of his enemies. the end.

Did that really happen? What happened to your old adapter?

When I use to play I always got like a 31-34. Then again, I only play on dedicated and my own servers.

I get between 60 - 160, but that might be because most servers are in the US

Quoted because that is my average range too.

Oh yeah, and I found about 3/4 of the time noobs complain of lag in regular killing servers is because they fail to understand the concept of lag shooting.

When I get in combat my ping goes up about by 300 so when I complain about lag people see 63 ping and say I suck. :/

What about that Yoyorast Paris server? If it's in Paris, why do I get about 100 here in central US?
Sometimes distance doesn't matter...In Chicago servers, I've gotten to 200 O_o. I'm only like, a half-hour drive away from Chicago!

Good servers I usually get around 50-120. Servers on the other side of the world are like 200 or more.

funny its so crazy, Halo CE is older as you all know, and i get 66 ping on their most of the time on good servers. (it doesnt even matter where they are either, its if other people lag thats what lags me...) but on BF2 which is newer, I GET 22-50 PING ALL THE TIME OMG!!
so crazy. so what, 0 ping is no lag?

0 means you're the server. Or right next to it (then again, even if you're right next to it on the same network, your ping will probably be around 2-10)

Yeah, I'm about a 45 minute drive from you, I'm directly west of Chicago. Do you get 100 ping in the Yoyorast Paris server?

Stupid Gearbox had to make Halo CE Dial-Up compatible, which is now the cause of aim-ahead. Why the heck do people still have dial-up?!
Gearbox had to make it dial-up compatible because Microsoft/Bungie specified that it be 56K compatible in their specification. You have to remember that at the time the spec was written (2001-2002) The Broadband penetration in the US was less than 8-10% of the households and not showing any signs of increasing. It was a valid specification at the time.

I get annoyed when people piss and moan about how bad a job they think Gearbox did on this or that when in fact they ported over what became one of the best selling PC games. Then they created Halo CE at their own cost and time and convinced Bungie to allow them to release it free of charge. Gearbox went far above what they were contracted to do and should be praised for their selflessness in releasing the Halo CE game and editing kit for nothing.

Get all the fact before you jump to conclusions about decisions that were made.
