It's a box map with scenery base from others, a weapon that you didn't make and a not so good Halo 3 spartan rig which you also didn't rig, no good effort at all.

Why is there [MP] if it has AI?
Also, looks pretty bad, and uninteresting as a whole.

How can you still be making maps like that, put a little more effort into your next project.

yea, all it is is a box with icefields ground texture, some raised verts, scenery bases, and AI. you really should try to learn more advanced stuff. not trying to be rude but this map is bad. but keep at it and just practice a lot and i believe you can get really good.

gmax5 it's like you keep making and releasing maps without advanceing or putting anymore effort into the next map then you did the last. That and you have been here too long to even think about putting AI into a MP map, we all know you know better then that. I have never seen a map maker put so little effort into their maps. People won't respect you for sloping AI and scenery looking bases into a map. It may be hard to become more advanced but you should try. Even with gmax instead of 3ds max you can do better then that. If you have 3ds max and are not using its tools i suggest you do so

I'd rather go without than take what you'd bring.

As far as a halo map goes, I think it plain sucks. But I will give you a few things:

1. At least you can use HEK and its tools.

2. The screenies remind me of mechwarrior 2 and I <3 that game :)

but you should probably work on your map making skills a little more before you make a big annoucement about your map.

---
Btw,
the whole practicing my skills during my free time when I am not doing anything else... this is what I am doing, for I do not want my first map to be uploaded to be a map that few people will play because "ITS A GODDAMN BOX!!!" --- that was from one of my friends who played my first map which I sent to him to test tags and show I actually could use hek's tools.

All maps start as boxes but adding detail will make them into something people might actually wanna play.
Mostly every mapper out there Has made a map such as this one but mostly noone released them and instead used it as a good learning ground. Watch some tutorials, do some other test maps and then let your friends see. If youi and they think it's good, come and ask here:p

All maps start as boxes

box maps start as boxes, good maps usually start as planes, because plane modeling is one of the best ways to model.

all maps are "boxes" meaning they are a sealed world. It does not mean it should look like a box. Take your time and put your own style into it. Don't rush a map to just get it out there. Take the time to learn the tools and to think of what would work well in a map. It will not come out the exact way you will want it to but you can come close.

mmmm yes; in one's mind everything looks pretty, especially when your brain forgets small technical issues. The map looks plain yes, but everything in the beginning does; those pictures that were shown at the head of the thread, why dont u simply consider it the beginning of the formation of your map? dont make it the final, instead work on it little by little. If it also helps: wait until the ideas come to you

The hardest part of making a map is the idea. When you do have an idea you want be ready to make changes to it. Plan, plan, plan and plan some more. How I start is by making a base and then building the map around it. Some will start with the level. Find what works for you and if you are having trouble ask for some help and input but be ready for some comments that you might not like. It is part of the game and you wont be able to make everyone happy, remember that. Learn how to create bases and not use scenery. If you have questions or need some help shoot me an e-mail chloe440@sbcglobal.net. I am not on xfire much so that is the best way to get ahold of me. Many times if you put effort into a level some people would be willing to make a base for you BUT you have to put effort into yourself. What you are doing is not easy and it takes time but keep at it. Dhark is right, make parts of the map and slowly connect it all. Watch you polly count and watch the size as well. Medium maps seem to work best. Good Luck and don't forget, ask for help.
