I got this awesome Idea. We have a cutscene making competition, and at the end we combine all of the winning cutscenes and make a mini-movie! (or not)

All you need is HEK, Scripting skills, and cutscene usage.

Here's how it works...

Using ANYTHING that is available, create your cutscene. After that you'll be graded on:
Good Camera Movement? ?/5 points
Background? ?/5 points
Environment? ?/5 points
AI? ?/10 points
Combat? ?/5 points
Cons: Bad Command Lists Down to 5 points
Cons: Wrong choice of dialogue if any Down to 5 points
Con: No action involved just talking... Down to 10 points

So, if you want to participate post here. Then create your cutscene!

thats a pretty good idea. and it might actualy work unlike other competitions nice idea.

I'll judge I guess, unless you think I don't have the skills, but messing around with dev cam and sorts, I bet I could know a good camera angle when I see it.

Now, explain to me how this will work. Is it just an SP map with a cutscene at the beginning and how do we get the 'map' and/or 'cutscene?' If it's xfire, I'd have to spend some time seeing if I could get it to work.

Well, the author submits the map to any judge, uploading it to some filehoster (rapidshare, mytempdir, etc.) then we download and watch. We judge then on the categories.

are you asking how to make a cutscene odx?

The categories don't seem fair, there's too many bonuses that only some people can do.

Background, environment, how it all looks maybe and not just the MC moving around talking.
Textures are neat and tidy, no extra points for uber textures. (DANO)

Updated the categories to total 40 points. And AI was added to make sure that there was fighting, as it's Halo! I mean, there's aliens. There'd BETTER be fighting.

Yes, textures can be sexy, but with my computer I cannot handle uber good textures...

ok still cant wait to see the work also is there going to be a deadline and if there is i would atleast make its 3 months for all finished work because. not everyone gets done with their work fast well maybe not 3 months

Anyway, since my Sapien / Tool was messed up, I re-installed HEK. Good as new. I'll submit a cutscene for what we are looking for.

Why does it have to follow the story line? You're limiting the possible entries.

Are you giving bonus points for Halo story line?If so then it still is slanted against creativity.

It shouldn't be vehicular combat as something that is needed, it should just be reduced to 'fighting' and created as a bonus, because maybe everyone can't do it.

Ah, so no Banshee fights? Awww. lol, I'll change it to fighting. And the storyline bonus will be removed.

I'd be glad to offer help, as I'm pretty good at it.

um no vehicle fights are aloud everything should be aloud i mean seriously its not a competition if not
