ok well ive been working on this for about a week now so let me show you wat i have done
modeled? = ya!
Textured? = nope D:
Populated? = nope D:

This looks like a map where the whole level will work as a sniper vantage point because there is no cover from anything!

I thought of some things that may be fun for this work in progress. I think this map can go places just needs more work, as you know and are doing.

My thoughts.

Put a water plane under the bridge, but make the shader like a brown color so it looks like muddy water. I have not seen that done yet and it could be awesome.

I would also think if you closed in the map some it would be fun. Like close it in but leave a hole in the top where light could spash down over the bridge. Make it look more like a cave, that could be fun.

Just some things i thought would be interesting.

i like those ideas alot but the map is snow themed so now brown water even now that was a good idea , the cave mabey but im not sure, i already gave the model to maniac he said hed texture it. but still i might use those ideas in another map or varient of this >:V

i based those ideas not knowing what sort of theme you were going for. But personally i think you are missing the boat by making it snow themed. It just does not look like something that should be a snow map to me. but i still think it will turn out decent.

Anyhow maniac is good, he will come up with something good. Afterall he did do all the texturing for the checkers map project. You chose wisely to have him work with ya.

I think you should put a giant fan under the bridge. And lights on the side pannels that face the walls. So like a spotlight could shine on the walls maybe showing off a one way sign. That would just add a creative touch. of cource lights are added after bsp i am just suggesting it.

Yeah.
My map was basicly a box, a bridge above it going across the map, with 2 hallways on oppisite corners leading up to the bridge. You can see how it looks similar.

Make it have some hills or something of that nature on the sides. If not hills then small tunnels.

needs waaaay more detail on the terrain. its just a box with a bridge, bases, and some cliffs. add some pathways in the cliffs on the sides and rocks and stuff. maybe tele-bases somewhere. its just too empty right now.

as i was saying on xfire... the bridge in the middle of the map is just pointless... u got soo much ground ARROUND the tiny bottomless pit that u can blow the bridge and it wont change a thing in gameplay!

Um... yes it does. You put a good weapon placement it would be good for gameplay... Like place a sniper or rockets on the bridge. It makes the entrence to get to it only 2 ways.

on the left side put a large forerunner structure into the cliffs. make it go all the way up with a small sniper base on the top of the cliffs where the ledge goes around.

The caves on the two ends of the lower bridge should lead to the bases, and there should be a shotty on the minibridge too.

sry to bump this up but cliffrun rocks, inverno just sucks anyway and this map will have great gameplay but mabey not as much detial. Kid just thinks he can beat me cause Halo guru worked on inverno and he older :\

i wasnt aware this was a contest =/. last i checked this topic isnt about inverno either.
