My friends, i have completed at long last my single greatest map yet and it is ready for download.
Like Tiamat, i will now add the readme so you have to scroll farther to get to the link!

Author: {AHS}SONIC

NOTES:
Well, after a long time of slaving away with a freeware stopwatch getting the timing for each cutscene
perfect, I, {AHS}SONIC, present to you, the halo ce community, Coluseum II, the pinnacle of SP mapping
and cheesy voice acting. (I think this is one of the few maps to feature voiceover, so
enjoy it.) I know the BSP sucks, but i lost the 3ds file so i had to stick with it. This map
was HEAVILY inspired by Bioshock, so if you have played it before, you might notice several gameplay
elements from the game. This is most likely the last map i will make for halo ce. School has started
and i have to deal with all the crap that the american government decides kids should learn, even
though we will most likely never use it in life...*cough calculus, the quadratic formula*.
(japanese schools are so much better lol)
Anyways, the concept of this map defies First Person shooters. It gives them a freshly polished
middle finger and says NO, WERE DOING IT MY WAY. It's all about choices. Save the wounded marine
from the elites, or get a better weapon to save yourself. Go up this ladder, or find another way
at the cost of your own HUD. You think you are making the choices, but throughout the map,
Coluseum II screams at you "YOU ARE BEING USED!!!!!", but it is only in the end you realize what
really happened, maybe some events were planned. After you complete an objective, the map
does not ask you how you feel now that youve done whatever you just did, like most FP shooters do.
Instead, it asks you how you feel now that youve been forced to. I know the first coluseum was stupid,
no storyline, you walk around running people over. wow thats so fun. This map, besisdes BSP
similarities, has nothing in common with the first coluseum. That should tell you something.
There is only so much you can fit into one map, and i spent over 6 months filling this
map with things that will be removed from the last version simply because the size became too
large to upload over an ftp client. I cannot fit an entire campaign into one map.

THE STORY:
It is 2543. The master chief is returning from a training excercise from one of reach's moons.
A covenant cruiser's distress signal is picked up, and it turns out the cruiser is on a diplomatic
mission to covenant rebels, attempting to return them to the bulk of the covenant force. Thats right,
you guessed it, the pelican carrying the chief is sent to investigate. The cruiser is hovering above
a strange arena, which is strangely hovering above a strange ocean. Now strangely start the map, because what
happens after that is the first cutscene.

I would like to extend my special thanks to Kirby422, for his exceptional scripting
skills and overall knowledge of the halo ce engine, and for putting up with all my crap.

To everyone else:
Haloguru: rigging my POS biped that i knew nothing about

The people at 2k for generously lending me the the music soundtrack from Bioshock

Theghost: sorry for critisizing your bluestreak exporter. I now realize the error of my ways.
(yea the guy you got mad at through email was me lol)

Blake Sparling: Totally unnessecary but hilarious G36c weapon description.

Usually i thank more people when releasing a map, but for this one i made it my goal to figure out
as much as possible on my own. (except biped rigging)

This map IS NOT protected. I encourage you to rip it. If you would like a copy of the scripts
used for this map, see contact information and i will gladly send them to you. We need alot more
SP maps out there.

Known bugs:
The turrets ammo counter is a little messed up
The cutscene bipeds armor is green while your armor is white (no racism intended)
you can drop the sniper rifle anywhere, walk as far away from it as possible and still pick it up
Ai might lag, depending on your system
Kuze is not properly modeled, holes and face stretching can be seen
the last cutscene varies on deciding to work right or not, it really depends on which ai
you kill during the game

If you read all the way to the end, good for you. Pat yourself on the back. No seriously, go ahead.
Were all freinds here. Anyways, go now. Enjoy my map, because I know i enjoyed making it. And if you
like it, support my nearly dead website by posting your general feelings about the map. And who knows,
When summer starts, if enough people liked my map, there might be a Coluseum III, you never know.

The word "map" was used: 21 times

.. the bold is wrong lol
the map_name is set out, after a space in that, THATS where you put the map name
map_name <NAME-HERE>
EXAMPLE:
map_name bloodgulch

i liked all of it except for the hud and lack or a rectile. Its more fun when you know where your gun is actually going to shoot. i also stink with the sniper rifle so i would have liked more ammo for it. I used bottom less clip to take out the nuke guarders. well all but one which caused the nuke to blow, thankfully i was useing deathless as well. i love to cheat on SP levels.

to me this ranks up there with borg part 1.

Ok since im getting a generally good vibe from everyone, ill tell u a secret about the map.
At the end there is the text that says GAME OVER PRESS ESC FOR OPTIONS. if you wait for about 20 seconds there will be a few credits, and then there is a secret cutscene. i urge you all to check it out :D

i may just do that. lol the cutscene with the banshee. i don't think who we play as has any driving skills, either that or it was his first time flying a banshee.

you should make another SP map but with a new BSP and a different theme and don't use any flood. we need more good SP maps.

yea i modeled orwell, i feel halo gurus pain for having to rig him lol
but the second boss was originally supposed to leap out at you and swat you down with a smack of his gun, but for some reason it didnt work, probabyl because there is no leaping animation ro something like that, he is rigged to the animation graph of the MC, not flood or sword elites.

That was fun. An A for effort.

However the BSP blows.
SP maps always seem to have good scripting and encounters, but lack in the level geometry department.

well i had a way better one, but i lost the 3ds file when i got my new pc so i had to stick with the old testing one u see in the map. the thing about linear maps, such as mine and biohalo, there are many different ways the player can approach the situation, because the map is bassically a big box, and you dont have a sense of direction. i have probabyl played all the way through this map AT LEAST 200 times, because i had to find every singe thing that could go wrong, depending on how the player would go about the problem at hand. for instance, if you decide not to go to the warthog, at the very end of the map in an earlier build, the banshee knocked the player into the trigger volume and started the cutscene. the reason we all make maps like this is because we are so used to making multiplayer maps, in which is doesnt matter what shape you put the map into.

Edit:
my map had a draco in it?
i dont remember putting that in...

A really good SP map, it is one ofe better ones. I'll have to check out that cutscene now, and I was playing through it and right at the part where you are supposed to prevent the nuke from blowing up, right as I picked up the sniper rifle to start taking the covies out it blew up. I took it to be a glitch but I thought that was kind of funny.

Anyways, good SP map, and you have my download on a number 3 if you make one.
