Im not talking about the one in Coldsnap.. But i was wondering, how could i make a ghost fly. and not like th one in coldsnap, because that one just jumps rly high... but it doesn't actually fly.. How could i get it to actually FLY, like a jet lets say?
(btw i used search and i found nothing)

What I would do is copy and paste the banshee folder, open the .vehicle tag of the copy and pasted one and change the model, functions, collision model and animation so it flies

reminds me of this HPC mod called ghostwing or something. it was a deathisland mod where the ghost had this cool skin and it flew like a banshee but more maneuverable .

I Love Grunts, I would be happy to answer your question. First off open the ghost_mp.vehicle tag and scroll down to "$$$ VEHICLE $$$" and under type it should have alien scout selected. Well you have two choices, either you can choose human plane, or alien fighter. Now if you want it like a jet, then you should choose human plane. However if you want it as fast as a jet then you would have to edit the maximum forward speed under that same tab.

i ok guys i just took the banshee and sawped da gbxmode animations physics and colision geomatry and it worked like a bute exept it had fule rod projectiles when clicking the right mouse butten so i took the ghost and put in human plane and it flew like rubish i had ta press spacebarr ta go up so i tryed the othere 1 that was sugestid and dat dit nuda all that hapend is the ghost whent forwerd and back though it looked kool on th scorpian cozz it looked like it was jumping so when i figer all of the bugs out i will try ta make a jumping scorpain and a proper fliyin ghost lol Edited by spike15 on Oct 9, 2007 at 05:10 AM

ok all i did was swap the ghost gbxmodels ,physics and so on thith the venture and it worked again but had a red light in front of it wich looks weird have a look and tell me wht u think? lol

1- he is not the only person here who is worth listening to 2- if you download HMT's v.3.5 tags editor available at halomods.com he has a nice tutrorial that goes with the download(only works for the first halo game) 3- he merely new the proper way to do that using things accomplished through tag tweaking 4- please use english even when making fun of someones grammer(this coincides with flaming)

ok mr. l283023 i will answer his question to the best of my ability to make a ghost fly is not a simple thing to do. what i would do is A. look in the banshee vehicle tag to see whats different between it and the ghost, making any necessary changes. also, you may have to mess with some animations. one thing i know you want to do is go in and check the box labeled "flying" somewhere in the vehicle tag. NOW that the question HAS been answered to the best of my ability, i will share my thoughts: A. you people do spam topics relentlessly with BS that has nothing to do with it. B. learn to type C. l283023 (i am having trouble typing that by the way) just so you know, every post minus the one about flywing mod for hpc or whatever, pertained to his question about banshee physics with a ghost. they were giving i love grunts their knowledge about their experiments with flying physics in a ghost. so don't freak out when they are obviously answering a question D. when people have already answered a question, i think its ok to add a bit of humor in there too. as long as you don't go too far with it.

No gas, no break, no nothing, if u want to go forward, u lean down.. and vice versa.. its REALLY weird.. I think im gonna try that Replace the GBX and collision thing..

come to think of it... it may look cool flying up there (if u have a constant boost throust affect even better (im not saying actually boosting... just seeing that thrust come out of da wing))

But if you replace the animations of the vehicle, there would be nothing pointing to those anims for the flying ghost. The physics file is part of what makes it fly. Also, Banshee physics does not equal a ghost like collision, it will cause the ghost to be about 2 times as wide, taller, and such, except it wont be visible unless you try going through a small loop, or close to a wall, and you will see yourself colliding with the wall when the actual model is not. Me and Exodus had this problem when I made a flying box for him... Tool did not want to make a physics file for me....

Squeaky, if you're just doing this for fun, and not a serious map, replace the ghost physics witht the banshee ones. If you're doing it for a serious map, then I advise figuring out how to make ghost physics work like banshee physics.... I tried once, didnt work out so good, my ghost goes forwards... only... Into the wall...
