Well it's not like Surface Pro 3 units are flying off shelves... I am not to crazy about it myself, its a poor PC and a poor Tablet, only thing it has going for it is portable Halo with good battery life. It really was the perfect demo machine for PAX. The Macbook I will probably keep for another 5 or 6 years, this thing is a beast and won't be slowing down anytime soon.

SPV2's lightmaps were never final or intended to be like that, right now the level has the same lighting as the original. Everything is going to be eventually redone using DLMs... or at least thats the plan. We actually use lighting this time around to give the player a sense of time.

If you ask me this whole idea of splitting efforts on the same set of maps with the same tags into two separate projects with different goals etc in an attempt to appease everyone was silly from the start and just downright confusing.
But you didn't ask, so I'll keep my mouth shut =)

They're vastly different level designs, which provide totally different experiences, Library Evolved is entering production in the next month or so as pre-production is nearly done. We'll have news on that in probably January or February.

As of now it is close to being cut, the payoff for making one isn't looking like it will be worth the effort, especially as we have started to develop the last half of the game and the flood.

Kind of like what I was saying about Armor Abilities in response to them not being in TSC:E. Well if you are adding something for the sake of adding it, and there is no grand gameplay design around it, its not going to fit very well. There are several things working against the mantis right now
A50: Low FPS at where you would want to use it due to the level geometry itself. B40: Tank is already a good option other than the mantis. C40: New areas now that they are fully developed or planned do not encompass the mantis well, and adding it into classic areas would ruin those segments. D30: For on foot segments, Covenant lack anything that in the hands of the player, would be effective at bringing one down, leaving it only vulnerable to vehicles.
While it does have a significant role planned for C20:Evolved, that can be easily cut out and would rid of things that would add significantly to the development time.

The only difference is now you actually have a visual animated crosshair which shows your bullets becoming increasingly inaccurate. Honestly Halo has had the progressive spread of projectiles since the first game so I don't know why anyone would complain about it.

I have to admit that I'm a bit confused by the decision to have 343 Guilty Spark take place during broad daylight. It's a lot of suspense and low-visibility and things going bump in the night followed by a hundred terrible creatures crawling out of the darness.

1. 343 at day just means the fog is green, not blue. Before Library: Evolved was a thing, the plan was to have the fog be green when you went inside the structure, and blue when you got out. So as seen in the UUI, the visual difference is that the fog is green, just like it was in backwash.
2. The complaints about bloom are more or less baseless. Bloom has been part of H1, H2, and H3 before it was made visual in Reach. While Reach did use the fact that bloom was more apparent, in order to add more bloom to weapons, that is not what we are doing. The weapon that is most effected by bloom is the Pistol, and you already have a vidoc that demonstrate how it plays.

its going to be intresting for the latter halfs of the project with flood to see how you make them a bigger threat to the covenant, ive always felt that in open sections like 2 betrayals the flood get their asses handed to them espically near the end of the map where the covenant would rip through the flood with vehicles and shades and any time you give the flood rockets they just end up killing them selves cause they cant aim to save their laves
