People want horrifying? Don't make vehicle-driving flood then, because that would just make them look silly. XD Oh, also. Can you guys make the animation for the flood look like they are twitching and jerking a bit followed by pauses and also make it so that some of them do berserk roars to make the others notice before attacking like crazy. Like... Make them look up and make there mouths open wide while letting out a crazy screeching flood-like roar. You know what I mean by looking up. Like in the movies and stuff when someone dies and the character looks up and goes all like- "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" and then it starts raining.

Horrifying=/=Fun

Like I've said, a lot of what we're doing with them is bringing them back to their Halo 1 and "Aliens" roots. We want to maintain that overwhelming feel of them (which was what made them horrifying in H1) and explore new ways to make them feel like a constant plaguing virus. In regards to their "Aliens" roots, we're exploring the combat forms maintaining their host species behaviors, but in a more perverted way. That's where most of the new animations come into play, including their ability to pilot and infect vehicles and other machinery.

Edit: I should also note, visually you should probably expect something similar in line to H2's flood. With the amount of enemies we put on screen with them, we just can't afford to do super high quality assets for every flood form, although you can expect our elite, brute and human forms to make use of bits of our regular assets.

I don't think putting a bunch of flood in levels is necessarily good. It may give off the impression that the flood is an unstoppable force, but any horror or tension the flood gives off is replaced by a more action take. Aliens did more with less, making the flood more brutal rather than high in numbers would better fit the theme that I think you are going for.

We aren't adding any flood to the encounters specifically, we are more or less changing the way they reproduce and evolve through the fight with OS's infection system. Breaking down some forms leads to more infection forms joining the fight, and those infection forms obviously can lead to other forms becoming infected. This will all be explained in more detail post CE3.

Ok here are some other questions 1) Will you be able to to pick turret when warthog is destroyed (2) Will the hunters look as good as the elites and jackels (3) Will enemies and you be able to die in random positions instead of default (4) Are the brutes able to run mad and charge at you?

There's some idea how to manipulate the infections to allow that to happen with the resurrections.\

1. No warthog turret.
2. Thats the plan
3. Enemies will die just as they have before
4. Raging brutes isn't something that ever really worked that well, its not fun having something with a lot of health. It always felt silly to have people throw down their weapons like that. Brutes do have a pretty strong melee attack, that will actually send you flying. I had a cool encounter in AOTCR in one of those little raised rooms with the windows in one of those copy and pasted octagonal room. I stuck the brute with a plasma nade as he went in to melee me, he broke my shield and took almost all my health out as I got tossed out the window from the force of the blow, only to see him explode. Evolved brutes have more ragey attacks than the SPV3 ones though.

I don't see why he would kill you.

Community Mapping Team was the kind of unofficial multiplayer team for CMT back 2010 and such. It was pretty much Duce taking CMT tags and saying "hey let's make a new CMT multiplayer experience" (cause the last one was 2007/08 or so).

So a decent amount of the community, myself included, joined in and worked on the project for a bit. Some maps were released, and some additional progress was being made before the team ended up dissolving. People went back to their own projects or got pulled up into the main CMT whether in person or just their content.

For example, I was doing a good deal of reanimation for the SPv2 weapons originally being used, and although I don't believe any of them save the pistol were ever put into G3, they utterly became the animations current used for SPv3.

Of course, I remember what happened, I know , nothing its a secret. There where rumors of Duce naming the new team CMT to get the G3 maps popular, and when Masters was gonna announce SPV3, Duce rushed the announcing of G4 without anything to show.

I wouldn't really classify that as the first CMT. We've had a lot of members come and go and come back again, lots of people join to work on a single task or start it and never finish it. with our 10 year anniversary coming up we'll probably do something to remember them all.

Saw the new screen shots, and I gotta say, it looks amazing. One of them captured the kind of atmosphere that Keyes (the level) should have had flawlessly.

tell me that it has to do with a multiplayer (danger canyon remake plz) or a test mission of the CMT SPV3 (unffocial mission)
