 It's so bland, and didn't know how flat everything was till I rendered it. Pretty much just rough sketching this thing out as I go, then will move the verts around/add more once I get the layout right ('m just building as I go, didn't sketch anything out to start with). And I have to run a virtualmachine on Windows 8 because 3ds max hates it. Coming back from almost 3 years of no modeling I think i'm doing pretty decent. edit: Got the basic layout done! Retextured some marines. Comparison Team Color-able New Detail on armor and clothing Totally swank gloves Crappy unfinished medic permu These might come with a version without mic, without eye visor thing, and a without mic and eye visor thing I can't animate for beans. I can use Guerilla though. edited the animations to fit multiplayer more. Still kinda crappy :/ . anyone have better marine animations? Ignore the Battle Rifles. I've been looking for some multiplayer-capable Marines with color change permutations, but I'm afraid I'm not a big fan of the scales on the armor.
I also feel like the medic's armor should be more white than black, perhaps with a red cross insignia against a white field on the chestplate.

These marines have an unnecessary amount of detail maps applied to them and look fugly. For example, the hexagons everywhere. Is that really necessary or even realistic?

I kinda like the hexagons, but then again they make the armor feel a little sharp or scaly, maybe you could try smoothing them abit to see what sort of effect it gives? just a suggestion since we're posting textures: http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6109/jackretexearly.pngstarted on this this morning but then had to go to the store, so it's still in the early stages it looks a bit boxy if you zoom in (you'll see what I mean) but I should have it buffed out later. Love that HUD Bourrin. Glad to see you're using the Ma5k too. I always loved that weapon tag, almost caused the entire community to chase me out back when "rips" were taboo (and I didn't understand exactly what they meant). It looks updated, yet still simplistic.

I feel like the medic shouldnt have shoulderpads and he should have a meshed white texture with a red cross where the shoulderpads would've been. For design points, put it on his right shoulder only to make it distinct. Oh and his visor should be orange or red
