New version pls then Until we can find a good reason to have it in game play, there's no point. It's functionality has been folded into the BR, AR and Carbine these days. Wasn't the only purpose of it for dual wielding because dual wielding the AR would be to OP so they needed a less powerful fully automatic weapon? Canonically, the purpose of the MA5K was simply for it to be used as a more compact version of the MA5 assault rifles, much the same as the M4 carbine is a more compact version of the M16 series of assault rifles. I don't think it was intended to be a weapon for dual-weilding. The SMG, however, was. At least in-game. Edited by Echo77 on May 15, 2013 at 12:04 PM

Well the use I gave to it in my map is like CMT designed it at first : accurate and slow then starfing and innacurate.
But these stats have been increased dramatically, on my edits, it can fire two accurate shots before starfing and haves less ammunition (30). Basically it acts as the stock assault rifle if you hold the trigger more than 1 second, with more powerful shots

Quote: --- Original message by: Higuy Oh, but having a brute plasma rifle thats RED and 10,000 other similar guns makes alot of sense in gameplay Each one caters toward each races play styles. For the brutes who work, the slower more powerful shots from their own BPR works better than giving them a Elite PR since they work in packs. The last thing you want is to be spammed by elite plasma rifle shots, seeing as the brutes work in packs. And you don't want the ai to just feel sloppy using them. Our brute packs often have the majority of brutes using a Spiker, with a few using a BPR, to strip the shield so the Spikers can more damage the players health. Sometimes we throw in a BS, Needler, or ranged weapon in depending on the environment. Plus in combat, the distinctive red plasma lets you know it's a brute shooting at you, rather than an elite (sometimes we do have mixed encounters, although it is rare). Plus if they always carried Blue PRs, the blue PR would be more ubiquitous throughout the game, and I much rather see the player be divided in which PR they preferred to use. Perhaps the PR deserves it's own little vidoc soon to go into this in more detail with some examples.

Is it me or does the Ma5k look like this? The Ma5K is in desperate need of an ammo counter. It looks like I'm holding some modelling clay in my hands without one.

Your fun fact of the day is that the M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens is actually a dressed up Thompson submachine gun with an underslung Remington 870. The MA5K is supposed to be minimalistic, hence the absence of an ammo counter. It's the lighter, more compact alternative to the assault rifle.

to keep this thread off the second page i will post some relevance. i have mentioned a few times that i was taking a hiatus from halo until mid june. but i decided in order to take my mind off of school and a recent breakup that i needed a small project... in preparation for my upcoming firefight project called lanthanum i have ported the halo 3 odst destructible barriers. its also a chance to sharpen my newly found opensauce skills. pics: and why yes they are destructable just almost complete except for needing some effects when switching between permutations. any crit helps but non constructive crit is frowned upon

could you do separate hit boxes for the panels and make them fall apart depending on what section you hit it in ?

Hey I'm interested in your ma5k, I'd like to use it as a sort of battle rifle. Working on this : I'll post pics when it starts looking like something Edit : After looking closely, I realised the frotnt part with the two holes is not a part of the model but actually a scope attachement Edited by bourrin33 on May 23, 2013 at 06:30 PM

If you intend to use it as an analogue to the BR55, something with a longer barrel would be more appropriate. [/nitpick]
