YES!
That is actually a really, really nice environment. Use some OS, and some good old texturing, this would look delicious!
And it wouldn't taste half bad either.

I honestly gave up on concept art, because I am not that good at it.
Glad you guys like it, would be cool if I finished it. :)

Wait a second, thats not halo CE! O.o I went back to my old unity project this week. AR model and anims go to gamma a LONG time ago....got the boneyard model from this site, and the phantoms came with it. but they move around and are blowupable. Havent really spent much time on anything except the AR though. gotta fix the black background on the compass and get the ammo counter working. Not really expecting anything to come from this project, but its keeping me busy, and ill work on it little by little.

ya know, lightmaps are nice, but they dont change the fact that this models textures are only 512 x 512, or the fact that it has a stupidly low amount of polys and a stupidly high amount of verticies. oh, and the compass is perfect now. it also rotates 360 degrees instead of just having 8 axisses. it is 25xx after all. how close is the project to being playable in a way reminescent of actual halo? I'm just curious, and guessing it's not even close

lol no. The only reason i have anything close to an AR is because gamma gave me a fully animated one. All i have really is the AR, and the knowledge of how to use the stuff. if people gave me things i could use them, but a huge problem is alot of the stuff here is designed for halo CE when unity does much much better graphically. like, the boneyard model there has very low poly (like, less than 150k? which i could use BSPS up to like 350k, assuming each individual mesh is not more than 60k) but it has 1 MILLION vertices..its so lame. Why cant you just import the animations and models then get it into unity. I would love to play something like that shown above, over a private match or something.

you could use more up to date games' resources as placeholders and filler until you get a solid build, I'd think

I could, but i would rather not, because its alot of work even to do that and i would end up having to do it all over again with custom assets...And i want to push unity graphically, because i can render like 750k tris at once, and like 150-200k verts, and halo is not close to that. Even if i did rip, and i worked on it primarily over playing any game or talking to friends etc, it would take me extremely optimistically 2 months...as i said, im not expecting anthing to come out of this project, im only doing it now because every other game is getting boring and this is keeping me busy. But ima keep working, and maybe something will...but i dont plan on ripping a bunch of stuff.
PS: the bsp im currently using is in fact only slightly over 75k. Can do much better. Edited by abkarch on Mar 18, 2012 at 09:54 PM
EDIT: if i send someone the animations in FBX format, can you try fixing the AR reload? its messed up badly...that and the bullet count on screen are the only things i really have to do on the AR, everything else is good i just need to script it in. Edited by abkarch on Mar 18, 2012 at 09:57 PM

Well, all ive used it unity is.fbx and .max, and unity automatically converts .max to fbx itself, and thats often times glitchy and better to do from 3ds max. So fbx is the best format to use, as far as i know. I had to convert the max file for the AR animations into FBX because everything was working except the right arm which refused to move. also, what i do is have all the animations in the same file in a different frame range, because thats the easiest way to manage animations and save file space. So like, idle is 0-50, walk is 51-109, etc. Did CMT ever release the source for the tagset, since the file description for the actual tagset says they would?? im not exactly hip to what went on/is going on to CMT, but since im using the CMT MPV2 FP arms for the AR, was gonna try getting those..
