I loved the Titanic, more so of my fascination of the actual ship wreck =oo.
IMO, avatar sucked. I didn't even really find it's visuals that appealing either, most of the crap looked rather dumb. The technology could be used much more in better ways.

not as far as having the plates on the ground. If I had this on a hilly terrain then either a support would have to get stuck underground or would be floating in mid air. Doing it this way allows you to place the bulk where you want it then add the legs in at whatever height they have to be so they are touching the ground but not going through the ground. Sure it makes the person populating have to put a little more effort in, but it does not increase tagsize but by a few kb and it allows you to have a more realistic look.

Yeah custom That keyboard sucked making. But it looks great I guess.
Making the specular is REALLY going to suck. I have a lot of layers I have to combine and adjust to get what I am going for.

We do already have teleporters, so it shouldn't be too far out of reach. Correction: There's a huge step between two simple objects that teleport people to each other when touched, and two wormholes that not only teleport things that go past them, but also let people see the other side. So far, that while one is achievable on Halo's engine (and already is there), the other is infinitely out of reach.

Don't be so sure, my old laptop has a hole in it like that and it runs fine, just around the hole it polarizes and does creepy crap. Your laptop has a bullet like hole in it, well golly.

I've actually seen this on a friends laptop before so i can verify that this is what happens. Or maybe I'll just not have the broken screen and throw a screenshot of a desktop on there or maybe the opening screen of halo.

Kind of reminds me of a tf2-ish art style. I do think you need to do something about those windows though. Not quite sure, but it just looks odd to have those unsmoothed faces in the middle of an otherwise smooth surface. I also think you could do with a few more polies on the wheel wells.

Yeah the windows may get a little higher poly and they will eventualy be smoothed. Also, I plan to make the wheel wells higher poly. Had a few people mention I should do that already actually. EDIT: Changes made: More polies around the windows. Back window is wider. Made windows smooth and added a vertice in the middle to make them curve slightly. Interior is shown but ingame I will be using a simple black texture so no detail will be seen inside. Sorry, but to preserver polies I am not making pointless, unseen details. :/ Glass will be shoot through, IDK if glass can be made to break on scenery but if not, shoot through will be just fine. Reduced polies on the headlights. I can make the ridges in the texture and that will work much better anyway IMO. Final tri count 2412 Keep in mind this piece will not be meant to be massively spammed and my intention is not to have this where too many people will consistently see it. Also, I am going to try and make LODs for it. Edited by eliteslasher on May 11, 2011 at 03:59 AMEdited by eliteslasher on May 11, 2011 at 04:07 AM

I still consider you're wrong. one way or the other to have this ''Flat'' on the ground it doesn't matter if either leg sinks a bit through the ground unless it really matters to you the tip is even.. but that's totally useless. yeah, the only reason I decided to do it that way was to make it fully adjustable to height for each leg in case it was on uneven ground. Things that stick too far into the ground or just plain hover above the ground look bad imo.

I got bored again... I bring you... The Harbinger of Death: (Still MAJOR W.I.P. right now) I don't have an "eye-candy" render yet. TCK had the original idea for a large crusier then Amazingcuziam said to make it big. I am basing it slightly off of the UNSC crusier Spirit of Fire. The textures will probably be the one off the POA unless I get custom ones. Just reworked around teh mesh. The final thing should be able to fit a Halcyon class cruiser into each engine with ease. It's gonna be BIG. Edited by Skidrow925 on May 13, 2011 at 07:55 PM

You could just make each leg ridicuously long, that way you could just edit the Z value and it will still go all the way down. The default trees sort of do that. They have a bit of geometry that goes under the origin, so that if you place it on a slope, it still looks ok. Edited by UnevenElefant5 on May 13, 2011 at 06:20 PM

Edited by UnevenElefant5 on May 13, 2011 at 06:20 PM That would eliminate the purpose of the weight dispersal plates, it would be like an elephant standing on a toothpick and thinking the toothpick isn't going to jab into the ground. :/ I know it has no gameplay value but I try to go for realism within gameplay which is the main reason I did it that way.

It doesn't look bad, I think it looks good. However, if possible you might consider changing the shade of blue you use for something a tad bit darker, and also make it be more transparent.
