yea seriously just try using all the defaults for antialiasing (or maybe a little higher) on the mental ray renderer, one skylight, and to make the skylight work properly set the final gather to high

this is the result you'l get and not sure about you but on my system this was a 7 second render

Nice render. OK TOP THIS!

1:13:06 renders. 120 frames of that. I think it will take awhile.

EDIT: Also forgot to add something. Did you see those yellow things on the front bottom of my ship? Those are orbital bombardment MACs and I am planning on making an actual one. Fun fact. Will be small.

and yea Skidrow the project im working on now is rendering at about 3.5 minutes per frame and im trying to do a 4 minute animation sooo if my math is right is abouuut 17.5 days :P

lol, actually the blades are almost perfectly to scale, if not a little bit too big lol, as for the tail, i noticed that just a second before you posted lol, i'll get to fixing it tomorrow :D

Hm. And all I am rendering is some basic shapes modified 1 skylight and like 9 or so OMNIs and 2 FSpots. And a moving camera. Also I set it to bounce...

What types of metal do MACannons fire that I could actually get? Because the lead slugs aren't working.

are you actually making one in real life because railguns are muuuuch easier to make. railguns just have 2 rails with opposing electrical currents and wen a conductive object crosses the two rails its accelerated in the direction of the current

MAC's or gauss guns use electromagnets that have to be on timing circuits that are extreemely exact

oh and thats the reason your renders take a while :P

my specs:

Intel i7 930 - 2.89GHz (OC'd to 3.8) - quad core with 8 processing threads
6GB DDR3 tripple channel 2000MHz RAM
nvidia GTX 280

for intense rendering the more threads you can get really helps. thats why i use mental ray renderer because it supports multiple threads much better ( as opposed to having one box being rendered at a time with a Pentium 4 i have 8 at a time)

Or tungsten carbide from what I have heard.

The problem is that I have on of those available. So I used lead. Note: Never fire lead out of a MAC. It looks pretty but it's stupid.

I can show you one of the generator concepts I made but back on-topic real quick.

Someone should make a GOOD fighter airplane thingummy. Or an albatross.

Haven't given you guys an update in a few days, the windshield has been slightly improved (the render is a few days old) and will be redone before i release :). hows it looking? (minus the top windshield)
