I meant the vessel itself. The majority of the variant found in Halo: Reach is comprised of the rear thruster section, while your model seems to focus mainly on the fuselage.

Arguably, but what would be the fun in me just making virtually the same stuff people will be ripping here in a few months (maybe)? I remake the halo reach stuff, and give it my personal touches (IE make it fit my preferences). oh, and i'll just leave this here.

And i believe the reason that the shortsword doesn't look right, is because its not a remake of the one from halowars (hence why its black) I made it off of concept art.  Thats the ref i used for it.

the texture you applied to your shortsword reaaally takes away from the model so in the future when your showing a model you should either apply a bitmap that fits, or learn how to make some good materials in 3ds max. I don't think your model really looks like the picture you posted of the halo wars concept art mostly because of the lack of detail in your model.. I personally like to see allot more of the little features rather than relying on the texture to show it off.

You shouldn't put any bitmap on a model when you are trying to show the model tbh. That bitmap looks like its just a random image applied to the model.

exaaactly, when i show models i use a light grey material on the model, put a white plane underneath it, create a skylight and render it with mental ray. SPEAKING OF MODELS!!! check it out: render - 2.7M pollies @ 48s per frame lowest poly version has 520k pollies (i'll attempt to get that in game just for fun :P) Edited by G TheFlea on Nov 28, 2010 at 12:44 PM

Are you still working on the Shortsword because I can't wait to see it finished! EDIT: You could probably rip the textures from halo wars because it is so low resolution. I found this exact ship on a 3d website except it was named H.M.S.S Thunderchild, and the upload date was in 1997.
