It's not that bad cheddars. I think it looks pretty decent.

To be completely honest it looks great!

It feels really.. yellow-greenish to me. Like mucus yellow-greenish.. I don't remember Grunts having that kinda armor color.

But I guess that still works -otherwise, that seems great!
(though I have no sense of shaders, so I'm not sure how great of a comment mine is..)

yeah if you look closely it mixes with red to make a yellow-orangish colour. If anyone could rip the cov_hex_detail_grey bitmap for me that would be great. I will release these son btw.

Here it is. You should play with the color's levels to get it blending correctly, ask me if you want to know more about how does the detail maps blend

thanks bro. I put the detail as a reflection mmask and set it to double bias/multiply. I will play around with it though more. The problem is the screenshot is so low quality.



gonna have to rig after rotating pelvis while rigging -.-

If you want to see more the hex details on the grunt. A simple method, open your hex details texture with photoshop. Go to image/adjustement/auto contrast and save the bitmaps. Compil it. And now go looking it ingame, and their is a good difference.

Also it's refreshing to see something that isn't a patched halo 4 port with no shaders.

He doesnt look that great ingame. (Not that you did a bad job) But bringing the detail out on the H4 stuff is still in confusion for me, I think the armor control is a main part of it.

you need to find a way to implement edge split modifiers into your blender export script so you can smooth complex objects for export.
