Not really, a tank I made for University was about 20million (high res mesh) - and my laptop ran it perfectly fine half the time.

You know what's funny? XD I looked back at this thread from the first page over to like, page 20 or so... And it was nothing but some cool models and people complaining about rips and rippers. XD I thought that was funny. I'm amazed this thread wasn't locked by now.

Disable turbo smooth and unwrap them like you would with any other model. Or remove your edge loops an add them back in after. Then re apply turbosmooth and render your UVW template.

Alienware m11x - older version.

4GB DDR3
1.75 GHz Dual core processor (overclocked) - yeah it sucks.
1GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce 335M Graphics Card (i think, defo 1GB though)
Windows 7

Nothing amazing, need a new computer tbh.

That's the problem, I can't unwrap at ALL, I tried it so many times. I just can't get it right.


Watch tutorials then and start with lowpoly models.

Why do you want to unwrap a highpoly model anyway? It's pointless unless for movies/renders.

e2: if unwrapping is your problem then you need to watch tutorials. you can't accomplish something complex like unwrapping if you go in without even knowing how to do it.

start small. learn the basics. then apply it to your future work.

You don't need to unwrap a highpoly model to bake the normals, you also don't need to texture it first. Just align the highpoly and lowpoly models to the same coordinates in Max, then export them separably (high.obj and low.obj).

Then use xNormal to bake the normals... You could take the highpoly into zBrush and paint it in there, then bake the polypaint (vertex colors).

is that using opensauce, or normal halo shaders?

if they're opensauce you could use a tad bit more shine, if not it looks great.

youre in the sun on bloodgulch though i see what you mean, the image has a bit more direct sunlight while bloodgulch has a higher up light source

The light maps are pure white to have standard lighting

Yeah, the elites look almost or maybe even exactly like the ones from halo 3. :O The marine shoulder armor needs a little texture work but if it's supposed to look like that then... well other then that, then the elite and marine looks the best! :D

Probably not shown in these images, but there seems to be an ejection port in the stock. I'd guess they're bullpups, similar to the MA5.

It's a WIP, since the rig is messed up. I need to add more "ENHANCEMENTS" like better tweaking and rigging and also shadering. I need a better collision,

I will release it if its finish so i can contribute more in the community.

- Rigging time - 10 minutes thats why the rig is a fail.

Stupid comment here. For me the marine looks not bad, just need new shaders, the rig seems legit. The flood human need a lot of work in the rig and the shader too ^^
