Your thumb shouldn't have the padding facing RIGHT into the gun, it should be kind of facing at a 45 degree-ish angle between straight up and where you have it now. I feel like you made the gun look smaller, or he's holding it back too far but I guess that's just how you make them origins. Needs more weight when he hits the mag in for good measure, and there was some strange awkward movement near the very end when it's just about at the origin. Grain of salt though...the framerate was pretty bad. Edited by ODX on Dec 26, 2010 at 07:22 PM

I didn't actually modify the gun's model at all, not even scaling. I made it back that far because the back end of the gun looks really boring in comparison to the front, so having that much showing just didn't seem right. It still doesn't look quite right though, I'm not sure what to do with it. Quote: --- Original message by: ODX
Your thumb shouldn't have the padding facing RIGHT into the gun, it should be kind of facing at a 45 degree-ish angle between straight up and where you have it now. This is a recipe for a broken thumb. The padding of your thumb should be facing the gun, that's the most natural way to grip anything. It's also the best way to do it without getting some seriously messed up mesh on the lower thumb, unless the model is rigged really strangely. Whether or not it is more attractive this way is arguable, of course.

it may have been modeled from scratch and all that but the general shape is the same as any halo scope. and therefore, is lacking originality.

if by ''looking like it fits in the universe'' you mean ''obviously hevily based on the original design'' then yes, l'm going to say the scope lacks originality. sorry if my opinion makes your ass ache a little.

Heavily based? Have you looked at? It doesn't look a thing like the halo sniper, only the scope does, smartie.

Broke actually used the Halo 3 model for the scope and modified it heavily to make it look like it's from Halo. He couldn't think of a custom concept that fit the Halo universe correctly. Therefore, HaloIsAHorribleGane is correct in this regard. End discussion.

EDIT: 3 post's in 1 second? wow. Anyway as he modified the scope then it is pretty much custom but still resembles the H3 one because it was made out of it. Look, both of you have your own opinions, and he has his own opinion. Arguing against another opinion is invalid, because you're unlikely to change their opinion. Let things be. Just because he doesn't believe the gun is completely original, which I agree with in regards to the scope, doesn't mean you should bash his opinion just because you think it's completely original.
