It was Broke's design decision, and his reasoning for the bolt was because bolt pull animations are interesting to create and watch. End of discussion.

Looks good, tri count is a bit high though imo for this game. 4000-5000 tri's is prob what would be best for this game.

Thats the link for the model (gbxmodel format). Have fun animating :D

@hunter
There are plenty of polygons that can not be seen in fp. I can be like infinity ward and delete all those faces XD

Seems good enough. I like the tap and finger flick to remove the cartridge. The grenade throw looks a wee bit fast, but is fine enough to me. I do like the ready animation.

Talk about an overhyped project, the makers shouldn't pride themselves too much you know, since they can never surpass other Star Wars games out there, nor could they ever create an experience that is remotely close to what the Star Wars games out there portray

Nope, just me. I'm the only person who's been working on this. So obviously, it isn't going to be done soon, and it won't be as good as projects which have a mapping team behind them. However, I am going to try hard, as i feel CE needs more maps which aren't just Halo 2/3 and are actually customizing the whole game.

The 'maker' (ftfy) has full rights to pride himself. This is an awesome map, which is custom, unlike the other 10,000 halo mods out there.

Also, it's not overhyped, it's probably one of the least hyped mods on this site.

Getting it animated is no issue; getting it textured WELL is difficult D:

what's the harder part of texturing it? unwrapping or creating the texture itself?

It's half and half, but making a GOOD texture is harder then unwrapping.

Reminds me I really do want to get my unwrapping skills back up again, me wants to uvw unwrap the guass rifle.

You know since I do wanna unwrap the rifle would make life/unwrapping easier if gamma or broke sent me the non-triangulated and it's still in edit poly.

Get on xfire gamma.

^ the arm is coming from too far to the left. I would reposition it slightly so it is more centrally based

No. It distracts from what's actually being showcased and is a horrible practice to get into. Grey background is ideal.

For the origin: I do wish it was a bit closer to the face, but that's just me. I feel like the weapon could also be scaled up slightly more.

For the reload: I dislike how the weapon comes closer to the face as he opens and closes the bolt. It looks awkward and is unnecessary, in my opinion. The rest of it is nice, reminds me of BF:BC2's G3.

Origin needs to be closer as AGLion said. But the gun looks so badass in fp.
I can't wait to see this animated.

I really like this gun, so here are improved origins.

I'll get around to animating it sometime today.
