I still have this, but i'm afraid my animator hasn't mentioned any update for awhile. Does anyone want to take up the task? Sorry to Bourrin33, but you haven't mentioned any update for awhile, so i just assumed you let go of the project.

I'm pretty interested.

So after a week of rebuilding my computer, fixing problems, re-installing software and finally starting to get things back the way i want them. I just saw this. I'll PM you the DL link. Thank you, and you will be fully credited.

Machete melee weapon sounds really good.


You could also try to use Hr3shy's machete as a base. He released it in ptm permafrost (please ignore my terribad animations for it)

I feel ashamed to say this, but this looks really good...

But your Guardsmen look like they were ripped straight from Dawn of War or Dawn of War 2.

With bad graphical settings.

if he got those models from DOW then they look great compared to how I remember that game looking. I think they're at least on par with the default marines, if not better.

well the guardsmen arent ripped from dow 2 or 1 if they where they would look messed and the dow models are tiny tiny they guardsmen are from a fallout new vegas mod
as for the gun from the mod if i knew how to rip from space marine or dow itll be cool :D
as for the head its a halo 3 marine head and graphic settings are all hd the model was made smaller for the guardsmen and gun to fit halo and yea tho for releases on these dow based tags give it more time till the guardsmen get a full finish and gun gets red laser beam thing


Oh, the VEGAS mod. I remember that. Slightly...

There was once going to be a 40k mod, however I know not of what happened to it. I wish I did. That looked bloody AWESOME.

too long and does not work at all angles as, when looking down, the gun would fly forward. shoving a handful of shotgun shells to only load 1 is way better and does not deserve criticism whatsoever.

If you have an idea of your animation, reproduce it in real and analyzes all the movement one by one.

If you've an "action" mind (while watching action movie, sci-fi, etc...) you can have awesome ideas.
For the third person it's more complicated. Even using a camera, the movements are... numerous and manifold. Just practice.

modified halo 3 beam rifle textures, rendered with no lighting. top 3 is with cubemap, bottom 3 are just diffuse.

thoughts/suggestions? will post dl link when done.

this one is with the banshee cubemap and original blue-ish colors.

Yeah, those textures are quite neat, but is the muzzle end meant to be that pointy? It looks like if you run out of ammo you could just stab the enemy to death.

it's a straight rip from halo 3, I liked the blunt and chunky designs of reach and 4 in terms of later covenant weapons. these are mainly for practice and to iron out a solid method for use in a future tutorial.


made with the same process as the beam rifle, no lighting. if it works for everyone, then I will try out a human weapon to see if the method continues working. bottom 4 are just me messing with cubemaps.

First animation in like 3 years, actually mostly tweaking some animations I already had.
They're pretty bouncy, which I don't really like, but yeah, I think they're decent.
