I don't think I like the alternate handguards, and the grip on the marksman variant doesn't seem entirely ergonomic. The optics seem a bit oddly-positioned as well. I would think that they'd be mounted in place of the ammunition counter (in Halo: Reach, we see that the counter is mounted on a rail). Removing the front cowling would probably be beneficial, or you could have the scope protrude through the cowling/have it electronically linked to a module taking the place of the ammo counter, which may be the purpose of the protrusion above the barrel on the MA37.

Yep. It's just a render in 3ds max with a background. Model extracted with Adjutant. (You can't see them) CMT FP arms and some nice lights on the left and some ambient screwy to make it work.

These will all be tests.

If there's any other model I'd want for FP it'd either be the Halo 4 DMR or the Beam Rifle.

also, the shaders DO look messy and while I like the picture, it's very distracting.

If we had support for tesseleation or even parralax heightmaps, those reach weapons could easily look good in halo :)

so i have an issue when i am trying to port some halo reach weapons, whenever i try to export a weapon it gives a runtime error vertex count skin then it closes without exporting the model

i am using 3ds max 2012 with the bluestreak that was updated by CAD

the weapons it has done this to me with are the reach sniper rifle, rocketlauncher, and spiker.

any ideas on what is going on?

gbxmodels don't have to be a sealed object. Collision models and bsp's must be sealed however.

the buttons actually have the gap(it's actually an indent) modeled in for reasons.
the handle is separated because I don't like the way it looks, so I have a few handle models lined up.

made some modifications on my AR model, just over 8,000 triangles which is a huge accomplishment. it could go lower, but I'll leave optimization for when I finish the high poly.
