Core gameplay is there. Also, the reaction to Reach wasn't entirely as negative as you think. The people who were up in arms over it were a vocal minority. The game is still enjoying a larger player base this far in than Halo 3 did, meaning that this far after its release, there are more people playing Reach than there were playing Halo 3.

Back on topic, the core gameplay is still there, the changes add different layers to it, but the same core gameplay still exists. Granted these changes are more radical than in the past.


First of all, one of the biggest concepts of core gameplay was that everyone starts off the same. thats obviously gone.

This is hugely incorrect. And assuming that somehow you were right with that, you gotta remember there are many more times xbox players now than there were then.


ANYWAY, anyone have any concepts for a futuristic red dot sight? i thought of something like this, and fancying it up and adding digital stuff to the "screen", but it still seems like it would be too small and too simple.

There are numbers to back it up, I wouldn't say it if it weren't true.

At this point in its life cycle, Halo 3 had an average of 250K players on a daily basis, and at the moment Reach averages between 290k and 300k.

there were like what, almost 20 million xbox live users in 2009?

earlier this year, users topped 40 million. So if reach were as popular as 3, it would have about 500k players, amirite?

Anyway, can someone offer some help on the red dot problem i have above?

Just wondering, but has anyone made the DTM/Law Enforcement shotgun? From what the halo wiki says, it was meant to be for law enforcement agencies and its shape would be similar to a Remington 870 shotgun, I reckon it'd be great for maps based on human worlds, considering cops would try to use it against the covies.

Halo's changes have almost always been for the worse.

CoD stays relatively the same because the developers understand that they have a winning formula. Bungie (and 343 by the looks of it) try to fix what isn't broken and produce games like Reach as a result.

You are so wrong... CoD stays the same because it's boring and there isn't anything they can add apart from stupid add kill streaks. No CoD game will beat CoD4, it's the best out of all of them as there isn't all that crap in, it's simply point and shoot.

Halo 4 is turning out VERY nice. It's a matter of opinion if you like it or not, but the technical reason for it changing is not a matter of opinion. It's a new game, they also want it to look better and have more emotional visuals in and to connect with the player. Hence changes.

would this be considered a deent sight? ignore the obvious errors it was a super fast render.


If this doesnt work, im looking for a way to signify that a weapon has a scope to zoom in, but you cant shoot through it, similar to the halo assault rifle in halo 3. except i want it to be something on the weapon a person is looking through. Anyone have any ideas?

Although in my opinion, Cod 5 is the best. World War II is where COD really belongs... it brings out epic gameplay and some epic cutscenes.

Truth be told, Halo Reach is more popular then Halo 3. While I strongly believe that Halo 3 is the best halo of all time, and Reach still pretty much sucks, it was a winning formula.

I'm also intrigued as to how they set up their equivalent of forge. With Infinity mode, where the holoroom(or something like that) can mimic any environment, what will we be able to do in 4? Will we actually get to creating our own environment, maybe our own Spartan Ops? The possibilities could very well be limitless, considering the platform.

you cant see a blue lens attached to a shape?

I purposely made it so people cannot see the rest of the weapon as i would just get flamed, its not done yet

How it works:You charge the weapon and it automatically fires, the projectiles impact effect spawns another projectile that is set to face down no matter what and has a high valocity to make sure it sticks into whatever you shot. That projectile has a light on it that is set to not be scaled by distance, that's the little target marker, the only problem is when you stick something with it and it starts to move, the mongoose.

That projectiles detonation effect is supposed to be the missiles being spawned on a marker that is actually high above the marker for that attached light. The only problem i'm having is for some reason the missiles aren't spawning there, they're spawning on the ground, and i need them to spawn there so i can make it so they're not all aimed at the same place. Could someone tell me what I've done wrong in the effect tag?


Also i'd like opinions on what I've got so far, please.

Lol, that's why i'm asking for peoples help to set the detonation effect so that the missiles actually spawn on the marker and are launched downward. Because right now they are spawned at ground level, they automatically hit no matter where on a map you are(inside or out). Once i get it to spawn them on the marker, the marker will be placed high above the map and the missiles will be sent downward from it. Meaning that if you were inside then the marker would be high enough that they would only be able to hit the top of the building. You get it?

It also seems they have made some changes to the BR so make it's silhouette much smoother.

Those look really cool. I'm not as much a fan of the sniper rifle though- it looks even worse than Reach's.

I guess we should look at it like a sniper/gauss gun, but then with the same blast type thing as the Concussion Rifle.
