so I thought it would be cool if i could run around in my neighbor hood like i was playing halo and shoot people. i figured i would look stupid doing that, so im starting to make my neighbor in 3ds max. in my neighbor hood all the houses look the same. so i modeled a house and i'm just gonna copy it a bunch of times. but theres one problem. i made the house too small and its not the right size to fit in the map without looking lik a toy house. so i need to know how to enlarge it to make it be the right size. i know that this sounds kinda noob-ish. but i really need help with this.
and hopefully i wont have to remodel it.
Edit: Also, Mastercheif is 100 max units right? im not sure how big i should make it. Edited by corndogman939 on Jun 18, 2007 at 03:47 AM

10 units equals one foot. Your house that you modeled would probably be about 8ft 6 in, plus the roof, if its one story. Roof is usually like 5-6 feet, again, depending on if its on story, and what type of house. I can remember this from my architecture class, cept the 10 units being a foot. Thats halo knowledge there...

thanks guys, but i decided to just remodel the house. and now im about 55% done with modeling the neighborhood. ive got asphalt textures for the streets, water, grass, sand, and i'll be adding driveways to each house later. im gonna add all the houses later, i put a few in to see how it looks.
i cant wait to drive a warthog around my neighborhood. actually im almost done modeling now.

i tried that but it only stretched the house and it looked all 2-d and stuff. but it doesnt matter now i made a new one and im almost done with the model for the neighborhood, but i have to go back and fix a few mistakes.
Edit: i have a question. when i put the houses in to the map, am i supposed to link them to the frame or the level, or do i attach them to the level? i think i am supposed to attach them to the level but i want to be sure.
also, if i put water in, im supposed to link it to the frame right? Edited by corndogman939 on Jun 18, 2007 at 06:26 PM

attach the house to the level, right? and link the level to the frame, but i already knew that im supposed to link the level to the frame. i just wasnt sure whether to link the houses to the frame, or to attach them to the level.
this is correct?

Quote: --- Original message by: Tarzan caboose, inside ceilings are usually 9 ft in most houses... I would give it 10 ft ceilings because MC is more than a foot taller than average. Then something like another 6 ft at least to the peak of the roof for a 1 story house... Look at my "ghost" text in my last post. Then you realize why my measurements were what they were... my teacher is retarted....
