ok my cousn and i are trying to play halo on a lan server and we DEFINATLY, ABSOLUTY are sure that wer have different cd keys, yet when we try to play together, it says invalid cd key and wont allow us to play... im running xp service pack 2 and my cousin is running vista buisiness. any ideas? we have both tried reinstalling.

one of you most of by accident used the others CD key. it happened to me when my bro had to uninstall halo and i didn't. So when he reinstalled it he used my CD key and then mine stoped working.

so you both have to uninstiall and reinstall make sure to keep your CD keys different, also use the same CD that the CD key is assinged.

you two must have mixed up your halo CD keys.

nope. im very certain that we both have the right cd's. we both reinstalled but it may be possible that he used my cd key. heres the thing, he used theghosts cd key recoverer thing, and it showed my cd key. he showed me his though and its alot different... maybe he needs to reinstall but i dont know

it happens with Halo CE as well, if he used your CD key by accident it will still throw off halo pc.

the 100% sure way it should work if you both uninstall halo pc and halo ce and reinstall making sure to use different cd keys and cd's.

thats really all i can tell you. as that is what me and my bro had to do. took awhile to back up all my CE tags and files though.

not when trying to get online with each other. it does matter, i have experienced it.
