If you want the current generation of players to experience the beauties of the past, I urge you all to port and upload your mods onto the Steam Workshop.

It is likely that many of the mod- and map-makers here are no longer active, so their works are fated to collect dust. I propose an official Halo Maps Steam account to be created with the sole purpose of hosting most if not all of the maps shared here onto the Steam Workshop. If anyone is still active and wants to upload their works themselves, or if they simply do not want their work shared there, then of course that is to be respected. The idea here is to let everyone seamlessly experience Custom Edition in Halo MCC.

What are your thoughts?

Thats a great idea, people should port all the Custom Edition and H2v maps over so they get preserved for new players.

I have already seen some maps over on the workshop that got ported by people and credit given to the original authors.

As im new to modding (but really want to get myself into it) i'll need instructions on how to do that tho

I've been told after extracting the tags you need to use either invader or guerilla to clean up the tags so that they are compatible with mcc tools then you use sapien to check if anything is broken and if not then recompile the map with tool and it should work. My problems so far are that I can't get the tags cleaned when I attempt to as it just skips them all and that i cant import/open them in guerilla as it gives me only errors or tells me to set a working directory first with no way to do so
