Most of the maps i download work fine, but certain maps that I download will open on an empty background screen and are unplayable. Is there a way to fix this or is this just an issue w the map?

In order to play singleplayer maps you must either get a UI.map which has an entry for it, or enable the console, open it up with the tilde key (depending on your keyboard, the one to the left of 1 and on top of tab) and type:

map_name thenameofthemapyouwannaplay

I usually use the console method but even then certain maps that i launch wont spawn me in and just open to a background which i assume to be the skybox. Id send a screenshot, but I'm not sure how to on here :/

what maps exactly are you trying to play? Also if you wanna send a screenshot, upload the image elsewhere, copy the link and paste it like this: [img]http:\\www.site.com\image.png[\img]
or just paste the link on its own

one of the maps that have this issue is called engine room 2.0, as well as a variety of others.
I'm not sure if its due to a problem with the maps or on my end but ill send a pic of the screen it opens up to

Okay so apparently that guy made it a multiplayer, not singleplayer map, you have to start it like you would bloodgulch for instance (Create a lan game and choose that map in slayer)

yup that worked, appreciate the help bro you saved me a lot of trouble :)
