Really impressed by this, it has a lot of potential! I hope you continue to work on this and would love to be able to help.

The fights do need to be smaller and obviously have cover and the things you probably know. And with that less marines with sniper rifles.

Thanks, I wanted to be at large scale battle, like a total and realistic war, cover will be added as some bsp elements and scenery.
I need more info about performance (last time I remember bsp was 24k, and I optmized it alot), and enccounter design, 2 of the most important details

I'm downloading, i'll test later tonight and let you know.

Did you model the geometry for the BSP? I'm most interested in that truthfully.

from a glance it looks like a mod of CSV2. But Emmanuel is known for making his own BSPs, so he might have just gleaned inspiration from the map or H2 Mombasa architecture

Looks like the latter. Needs a lot of polish, the road endings don't make sense. Neither do many of the alleys. But from a functional standpoint it's fine, just too large. There's also a lot of geometry that doesn't get used or seen; use the +sky material on anything the player won't see but that you need to maintain a sealed model. It'll save a lot on resources. However....

I'm using a geometry now that has ~42k faces and it's as optimized as it can be. About ~41k are actual faces and not +sky. As long as you portal your map efficiently, you can get away with a lot in the engine.

Mind you I'm working within OS, but even then stock Halo was able to render the BSP without issue once it was portalled.

You need to include vehicles, walking that far a distance is dull and kills the excitement. Along the way you should have encounters of some kind, even just a banshee or two that follow after you.

The snipers have to go, or seriously tuned down.

It was fun, I enjoyed it. Look forward to more.

Thanks, probably I will watch later

@DeadHamster

Hello Thanks for replying, yes, I made the bsp, to be honest just added some boxes, conect them between them in the main terrain, rip some building models from H3 ODST and put them as floating pieces (If you use the jump cheat, you will see)

I was planning to put scenery doors at the endings, but the bsp has some problems rendering a lot of models (Or maybe it was my old PC). In the past I used +sky, but many people has recomended me to use player clip materials, I will do it in the final release.

I made some things in the past

That bsp was 34k polies, I can throw more, but it dependes on wich cluster you are and wich one you are facing, in that case you never go around the central place, while in this one you have to go through all the city.

It has vehicles, didnt you see the warthogs?

It also has banshee encounters, but I havent been able to script them to follow the player.

Ok,less snipers

Thanks, I hope I get it ready next year...
