His method only works with Windows 10 (can't confirm for Windows 8/8.1, might does work). The only thing works for Windows 7 is change theme to "Windows Classic" theme. Lame, I run my main windows machine on my Macbook Pro so I need to use hidpi scaling available only with Areo to correctly render things on the Retina display.

Yeah, it's really unfortunate the hardware is better than that of comparably priced windows laptops. Having multiple VMs having them tie in seamlessly with OSX has been so vital to SPV3, it simply wouldn't be possible for us to have made the mod just using windows.

You could just rewrite the entire thing and make it not look like crap.
But CE is dead, too much effort.

See this is why I can't take you seriously. You can't find a machine that competes with the 15" retina macbook pro with the high end GPU on price. If I'm so wrong go find me one.

So, assuming Apple's own website is accurate, $2449 will get me an INTEGRATED GRAPHICS CARD... So, I could find a 400 dollar computer with a non-integrated graphics card; the battle against that model is won. Now, lets look at the $3049 model, that actually has a dedicated graphics card, like you would expect of every computer more than 600 dollars. Lazily used the first web result on bench marking tests, next, I went to the best buy website, picked gaming laptop, and sorted by lowest possible price. This found me this low rated thing. From there, I used the same benchmarking site (Which my 10 seconds of looking around didnt have direct comparision options, so I gave up and manaually compared a few values) and viewed the card from that $999 computer From there, I compared the actual benchmark apps; seemed pretty much the same. Then, in the game section, I found one game that matched up "Witcher 3", and the $999 had a few frames more on every resolution. *shrug* should have found a better site that had side by side comparisons, but whatever. No effort, first computer I compared it with, I found one that had an approximately equivilent card, for two thousand dollars less.

Plus everyone knows the Surface Book is still buggy as hell and prone to crashes as it was rushed out. Edited by Masters1337 on Jun 3, 2016 at 04:22 PM

Seriously? http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/surface-pro-4-book-crashes-driver-update/#:PiMhpPXYRQofoA
From everything I've read it's still plagued with issues.
@Kirby, you are looking at the 13" model, all 15" come with a discreet GPU and Integrated, it switches between the 2 depending on workload. That machine also has a low resolution screen, physical hard drive to start as well.

Hm. I'll have to check when I get home. Regardless, even with a discreet gpu the machines are t equally spec'd, with the MacBook taking the edge

My Macbook Pro 13 inch and my gaming laptop both cost the same, yet the macbook totally sucks for gaming while my gaming laptop handles everything with ease. The specs are nowhere near the same.
It's obvious that you are paying for the Apple Tax. (granted, the Apple ecosystem is one of the best but eh)
I should add that Windows users have no need to run VMware for Mac OS, while Mac OS users do...
Does this mean Mac OS isn't as capable as we thought? Edited by Jesse on Jun 3, 2016 at 05:46 PM

I don't use the macbook for gaming anyway which is why I do have a spare PC I use just for games. You aren't even providing specs... so I don't know why you are bringing it up.

No need. Even the most expensive mac doesn't come close. (and that's 2k+)
That said, I still love my Mac. Different tools for different jobs I guess.
