When I made my first map, I ran into the problem of having a limited size (130 MB). I was a tad annoyed at this, since it meant I had to pick weapons and vehicles that I liked the best out of the hundreds I had found on this site. Recently however, I noticed that a lot of maps I have downloaded are much larger than that size, like bigass with its file size of 150 MB, or firefight descent with its file size of a whopping 294 MB. How did they do that? Also, if the engine can run maps larger than 130 MB, why is that limit built into tool at all?

The limit is in place because when the game came out in 2004, large file downloads with dial-up/56k modem was a no-no.

There was a whole fiasco a while back where tool_pro gave people problems.

People that use it nowadays use it with no issues though.
If you're wanting to use it you're gonna have to get in contact with those people though. Or risk the interwebs and find a link yourself.

To clarify certain releases of tool_pro contained the nasty flu virus while some did not.

In any case linking directly to the .exe isn't allowed unless you wnat anti-virus sites to label this forum as a hazard.
