11.24.15 18:15:50 tool pc 01.00.00.0609 ----------------------------------------------
11.24.15 18:15:50 reference function: _write_to_error_file

11.24.15 18:16:10 EIP: 0x00407769, 66 89 04 53 ?????
11.24.15 18:16:10 00030002 ?????
11.24.15 18:16:10 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

There´s a model polycount limit or what i am doing wrong?
This always happens with high poly models

PD. I have already port sucesfully some models from H3 odst to HCE

As if that takes skill?

Anyway, you shouldn't be having problems with that model if you're compiling it as a .gbxmodel.

Did you use the right command? The right file paths?

tool model reach\scenery\pillar_of_autumn (assuming it's in tags\reach\scenery\pillar_of_autumn\models)

Did you properly link the model to the frame node in 3ds?
These types of errors also happen when you have an issue with the materials.
Did you assign them to the object properly?
Do all faces have valid material numbers?

The poly count shouldn't be what is stopping the model from compiling.

Not to be rude but learn not to take things at face value. He's saying that he has experience doing some form of port as proof that he isnt incompetent. Most people who ask these kinds of questions cant even use ce at its basic level, hes saying the case is not true for him.

Well the path is scenery\test\test\models, but i dont think its that.

The problem is am new 3ds max, setting up the material is a lot more dificult, or at least diferent from gmax. Let me see later if i have issues with the materials.

No man, i dont have steam, later i wil figure it out.

Well this is what i got, i think the degenerate traingle has something to do with this, but i already have degenerated tris before and it only afects collision, not models

I have to admit that i use 3ds max to put them in gmax, since all my model are there and its essier for me.

You're definitely right, it does take some knowledge of CE to port stuff, I assumed he meant to use the porting skills as a factor in proving his capabilities.

Basically, you wouldn't hire someone just because they can port easier models, right? I was looking at it a bit narrowly though, my mistake.

Also, Emmanuel, you can press M in 3ds max to bring up the Materials dialog. I can explain more once I get home but you probably need to create a multi ID material and drag it to the object (and name the material IDs.)

that's probably the bigger issue right there, using gmax.

However, its an access violation, which could just mean that you need to close your modeling program after compiling the JMS. I know that 3DS Max 2011+ do some weird stuff where they hold onto JMS files with the bluestreak exporter.
