if halo 3 had a DMR, it would be terrible. DMR should not exist in a game where the BR already exists

Why not? They do cover the same roles, but in different ways, spray's of bullets in bursts vs slow precision strikes. With both in game which one to use would be a simple matter of preference.

BR was innately accurate and with a reasonable rate of fire. Once the DMR was included, they had to make the BR faster and more innacurate to compensate. Its bad balancing when you can pick either 3 accurate shots at a reasonable rate of fire (BR), or a single, high damage, pinpoint accurate shot with a somewhat slower rate of fire (Carbine)

If I remember correctly, all of the games had weapon bloom. It just wasn't shown on the HUD/reticle until Reach.

Still i cant see how that would make the game terrible, the battle rifle was still good, it could kill on a reasonable range, it takes 4 bursts for a battle rifle to kill someone while you also need 4 shots on a DMR. So regardless of the balancing changes they made it on halo 4, it would still be a matter of preference. I dont know if halo online battle rifle also works on the same way as the halo 4 version but both DMR and BR are on the game and people so far have been playing with them just fine.
