IMO the lighting looks worse. seems like they messed up the games atmosphere they added more lens flares and it just looks bad

Pretty sure they only changed the bloom and HDR parameters, they didn't add any lens flare (basically they used the same treatment of Halo 3 on Xbox One). Plus, iirc that part of the campaign was bright in the stock game too, but I could be wrong

that part of the campaign was actually blisteringly dark. If I recall correctly, that area is actually completely pitch black, even with VISR on

yep. it ruins the mood making it brighter

they may have just added more bloom (look at the scope to see what im talking about)

Anyway I can't even fathom the argument for MCC'ing ODST. I mean on paper MCC sounded great but 343i's approach (and also the fact that the idea was ahead of the current gent tech) was never correct.

If it had worked it would have been a benchmark moment for 343 which is why I can guess they pushed on with the idea but it has to be said, MCC was just a galactic waste of money for both parties. (Distributor + consumer)

On another note if 343i feel so strongly with the removal of nearly every aspect that made halo such a galactic boss of a game, why did they feel the need to include any of bungies prior work?

MCC could have simply been saved if halo 3 was to be given a 'do-over'


Still I have a shred of hope for H5's Multiplayer. I've all but given up on the campaign.

The reason why ODST is being ported is because the MCC was a colossal failure at launch and they're trying to make up with the few people actually still playing.

Well, good thing they have several months to fix it then. I wouldn't expect perfection from a screenshot of an early reworking. They haven't ruined anything in ODST unless they release it in that state.

Guys, it's one screenshot. No need to freak out. Plus the player is at low health which also adds visor redness and sometimes I feel it's affected the bloom.

Wait until they actually give us real pictures and videos to look off of, and especially not WIP.

What angers me most about this is I probably won't get it for free because I didn't play the game during the right date BECAUSE IT WAS BROKEN AND I DIDN'T WANT TO BUY IT. So I bought it after that time period (I think it was like, if you played between release and a month or two after, you get ODST and Relic for free), but even then the game was still broken until a few weeks ago.
Basically, they should give it out for free to everyone.

Meh. I've heard that 343 are not bringing in firefight though. Don't see the point of getting it if this is the case.

Also isn't this deviating slightly from 'The Master Chief' collection?
