Hey guys, I'm looking to get into the CE community, I'v heard great things about the community and am looking to have some fun with it myself, anyways are there any clans or communities out there that are looking for a new member?

I hear Johnlex is recruiting.

But seriously, the majority of teams CE has are mapping teams. You'd be better off looking for a clan on the mainstream Halo forums, or googling a clan tag you see in game for their personal forums.

Halo CE clans:

--Host only stock maps, claim to have popularity even when it's only in hitcount(which is why they only use stock maps)

--Most of the time, just host the servers and only launch the game once a month for about an hour. Go ahead and cheat all you want, nobody's stopping you ^_^

--Pay for like ten empty servers and do -NOTHING- to advertise them

--Do not advertise this games' ability to host custom maps in the first place

--most of the time, CANNOT advertise this games custom maps because they don't learn spanish and their policy retardates the ability for any ' non Admiral ' level clanmembers to do so even if they CAN speak spanish

And I can name more than 9 major big name clans that have leaders and server admins that haven't played in months

And I would find it wise to actually connect to each server and survey the players directly on how they feel about the state of the game rather than just looking at the playercount at the top of the Gamespy Master Server List and assuming that the game is fine.

Aside from HaloMaps, Open Carnage is currently the most active Halo-related community, if you want to give it a look.

Yes, but you must undergo a trial to be admitted. After dark, meet the gang deep in the spooky forest, we shall bring flashlights and you must tell spooky stories. If your story is spooky enough you will be allowed to join. 3spooky5me.

Guys go easy on him he's new here lol

And the fact that a lot of the higher-level players and clans aren't as active anymore doesn't undermine the great matches they're having in their locked servers, all at the same skill level on maps everyone knows and loves.

The reason why people play stock maps is because they're well-designed and have a deep metagame. I've never seen a single discussion in this community about the way player spawns work in the game, or about map design in general. Every custom map comes out with default weapons timings. Why would competitive players choose to play custom maps and respect our work if so little of it actually has any competitive value.

I could probably count on one hand the amount of custom maps where 2v2 mlg ts actually works well, but right now I can't even think of one off the top of my head.

Step it up guys or tell him the truth: the majority of us would rather *fun*post up this board and rip tags than actually play Halo CE.

the SMG clan hosts many of the servers for Halo CE and Halo 2 Vista. They used to be hard to get in to, but they are more open now. I am friends IRL with one of it's 'leaders' so if you want to join it I could see if I can get u in. However, the guy knows me IRL, he dosn't know you, so there might be a trial waiting for you.
