So I just did a re-install of Windows 7 and just got done installing Halo CE.
I then updated to 1.09 (so I can have OS) Installed msxmlenu Installed OS HAC2 I then went to play online and noticed that when I type, I can't see my text till I hit enter and it shows in the feed. I reinstalled everything as well as disabled OS and HAC2 and restarted my computer. I'm not sure what else to try. I searched Google but couldn't find my issue. screenshot:  |

Absolutely a shot in the dark, but could it have anything to do with HUD scaling?

I already tried disabling both OS and HAC2 but this does seem to be the issue. Lower resolutions seem to show the text I'm typing. I'd like to be able to play in 1080p but if I have to play at 720p I will, it's not a big deal. (It worked before, I'm not sure why it's not now.) I'll try something and see if I can fix the issue. How did you do that exactly? I just reinstalled Halo on my Mac (running Win8.1 on Boot Camp), and I'm having the same problem too.

First thing first, did you install C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\redist\msxmlenu.msi Anyway, I edited C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\content\1200editbox.ksml BACK IT UP FIRST! if you installed that and it still didn't work, it could be an issue with the resolution as I've seen.

 After editing that file, I ended up with this. I'll be changing the color of the font to the actual blue used in the feed later. I'm glad I fixed my problem. [EDIT]  I've always wanted to edit that file, I just never had a reason to lol. Edited by TailsTheGamer on Oct 27, 2014 at 01:25 AM |
