is this possible? can someone help me write a script that can dothis? it might be able to be done thru cmts, backpack weapons mod.....

or thru markers of some type.... i want to be able to use a different nation per team color.

Well here is biped based on teams: http://youtu.be/fOiaPK6ynRg
That is with OS and I'm not sure how to do that. But looking through the new scripts OS offers I can get an idea on how to set it up.

Now for non OS...
From my experience from being a nerd making "AI in multiplayer" maps in the past I remember that the teams:
0 / default by unit = red
1 / player = blue

If you look at the scripting bible you can see this; usable teams for scripts:

There isn't a "default by unit" so checking for red team doesn't seem to be possible (though I think the numbers 0-5 may work), but that isn't a problem, you would just script the map to see whether you are blue or not but there is a problem with that.
Now as far as I know there is no script to check what team a player is on (without OS). The most similar thing to that I can find is this:

If there is a script thingy to check what team a player is on then using a script similar to the backpack weapons would definitely work.

I just totally looked up all of this. While I can script I have not really looked into this very much at all.

From what I remember I think chokingvictim has moved away from halo modding. As for the script I can probably do it. I'll test it out this weekend.

I just made it so, with OS, teams can determine permutation.
Non-OS is tricky and there are several ways to get this to do it but not in the way of just merely switching teams.

As for changing bipeds, that I have very little idea how to do.

Still working on things, I'll make a video.

It's possible with Phasor (possibly sapp) to switch the model on a biped before the player(s) is notified of the spawn - so you can easily do this server-side while the clients see it as well because of the timing with the notifications.

002 demonstrated this with elites/spartans via team, like so:

I won't try to summarize his methods, here's the thread:

I knew SAPP would have an easy solution. Had this been used in an actual server before?
