Baking lightmaps in 3ds max should be much more precise than Halo 3's "tool lightmaps command", though I'm unsure.

Pretty sure all of H3's lighting was done in Max and H2 was the last to generate it via tool.

Please don't take this as impatience, simply curious;

It seems like these 2 currently rendering BSPs are taking much longer than the last few that were rendering. Is this because you've gone in order of complexity, saving the biggest for last? Or because these were dependent on the results of the others, and thus have more to do for their rendering process?

I bet one member of CMT has OCD and so they're rendering the BSPs out of order.

The last 3 bsps are our most complex. They are basically crawling along, but hopefully they will finish before too long. We also wanted to get our exterior bsps ready to show off for the holiday video, since we won't be showing some areas until after release.

My brain doesn't care about what you guys said regarding the lighting, so everytime I'm on the Internet (and not playing) I unconsciously check the progress pic every 5 minutes... or less.

Well the currently rendering BSPs have been going for almost a week now, I'd expect the same or longer for the last one. But that's also considering there's absolutely no errors or tweaking involved, don't count chickens before they hatch and whatnot.

Oh lawdy, you could have like, half chickens, and 2 headed chickens, and 2 chickens in 1 egg, and mutated chickens that birth little tiny baby chickens at like 30 per egg...................
