I don't know what you have changed with the "Reply" and "Quote Reply" buttons which are under each post, but they don't sit to the right of the post. Just looked at their style with a Chrome Extension and noticed you have the style "right: 17px" which is bad for fluid design. I'm assuming it looks right on a smaller monitor. Simply change the "replybuttons" class style to this: Quote: .replybuttons { display: block; position: absolute; bottom: 10px; width: 100%; text-align: right; }

Edited by OHunterO on Aug 18, 2014 at 11:17 AM Yea this new system is not working out well on the user end... and the "Preview >" feature seems to be aloof as well, opening a window that gets stuck in a "Loading..." screen. Edited by EtchyaSketch on Aug 18, 2014 at 11:29 AM

you have the style "right: 17px" which is bad for fluid design. You don't seem to understand the 'right' css property. It is necessary to make absolute positioned content float to the right and allow you to set the edge position. The problem is that that Dennis has set the width of the div to 300px causing the large gap you notice (which is where the edit post button would go if you could edit every message). I've already discussed it through private messages with him, but he is fairly adamant about not changing it. Quote: --- Original message by: Dennis The Intent was to make certain that the position of the quote and reply buttons were always in the same place regardless of if you can edit or admin the post. While removing the width of the div right justifies all buttons the position shifts depending on if you can edit the post. Quote: --- Original message by: DennisQuote: --- Original message by: raffgie Why not just move the edit button to the front of the list? It's a matter of visual perception and repetitive moment. People will get use to the first button being reply and the second being quote. They will also get use to the position on the page. It's all part of GUI design. You don't move the position or relationship to the page of often used buttons. In the case of adding/subtracting buttons a space is better than moving buttons. I was going to add a disabled edit button but the space being filled is a better indicator when the function is available. Quote: --- Original message by: DennisQuote: --- Original message by: raffgie I would imagine editing your own post would come before quoting or replying to it. In GUI design you don't design for the exceptions but the norm. More people click reply or quote reply than edit their message, therefore you design for those buttons to be in the same place. I am not offhandedly dismissing your idea just explaining why it's poor design to float the buttons as you suggest and why the space makes it more visually apparent when you do have the option to edit the message. Quote: --- Original message by: raffgie If you don't care about aesthetics or user-centered design, then I suppose your current design is fine. [:)] Edited by raffgie on Aug 18, 2014 at 08:23 PM

What browser are you using? and what version? What extensions do you have loaded. And Yes the preview is broken sometimes on the chrome browser due to the modal window. Edited by Dennis on Aug 18, 2014 at 09:52 PM

Edited by Dennis on Aug 18, 2014 at 09:52 PM On my phone, Pale Moon Android Alpha 24.7b2 (based off of Firefox). I am using Ghostery, AdBlock Edge, and NoScript (though i am not blocking any scripts on Halomaps, and disabling both has no effect on the issue). I haven't tested it out on my computer yet, but, i have Pale Moon 24.7.1 (or is it .0, can't recall). I have AdBlock Edge and NoScript (and several others. Look up the search engine "DuckDuckGo", and find a page on there called "Fix Tracking" and find the list of recommended extensions for Firefox). Edit: Actual, heres a link. http://fixtracking.com/ Edited by austen1000 on Aug 18, 2014 at 10:04 PM

The site was never designed for mobile devices and they handle positioning differently when it's mixed. I have an old school fugly fix for that. I'll put it in. Thank you. Also, there is only 3 scripts that it is showing to block. Decided to block the Google Stuff again. Plus, Pale Moon is the true Firefox. Firefox Firefox (yes, i did that on purpose) is losing touch with its roots. Edited by austen1000 on Aug 18, 2014 at 10:22 PM

Not sure what you did on your end Dennis, or if you did anything for that matter. But all seems well and now all the proper quote buttons are showing up. That was bizarre.

This should be corrected as well let me know. There appears to be a difference in a particular function in JavaScript between mozilla and some webkit implementations.

I don't know how I feel about the removal of borders around avatars. While it works fine for images that have full backgrounds (such as yours Dennis), images that have just a plain white background like mine feel somewhat uncontained and less nice to look at.
In the end this could just be me and I can always add a border to it myself I guess.
