I was playing fine yesterday but the servers are not showing up on the list when i click get servers or refresh. I tried updating to 1.10 and adding it as an exception on my firewall and still nothing. Can someone help me out please?

I am also having issues today getting servers to show up on 1.09. I haven't tried 10.10 yet because I don't want to lose Open Sauce functionality.

I think Gamespy finally decided to call it quits.

What exactly is Open Sauce and HAC2? I don't know what it is but I hear they're working on Open Sauce for 1.10

HAC 2 is an extension to Halo CE allowing you to bookmark servers, change your FOV, earn medals as seen in Halo 3 and much more!

Open Sauce is an extension that works along with Halo CE to give more tools to developers. I can't give you the specifics but mods like CMTs SPV3 will require it for things like vehicle boarding and enhanced graphics. Both fill almost every need when used together and when an OS version for 1.10 comes out I do recommend installing both provided HAC 2 and OS are compatible.

i last heard that he was gonna cut alot of features to release os for 1.10, that was like 2 or 3 months ago.

I uninstalled Halo CE completely and re-installed with 1.10 and HAC2 and still nothing. Pretty sure Gamespy is responsible for this.

Wait hold up a sec, 1.10 was supposed to re-write Halo's master server path to use one Bungie set up. How could 1.10 NOT be working? It doesn't even use Gamespy at all.

I agree with you completely. This whole notion disgusts me; even if it's not the OS team's original intent they're effectively forcing users to choose between them and HAC2's features.

So much for 'working together'.

Also the problems were with 1.09.

Can't you just have two different halo installations? One for OS and one for 1.10? Unless there is something obvious i'm not seeing here.

I'm pretty sure you can. MattDratt has multiple installations of the game so I know it's possible.

Yeah it is kind of a disappointment. I mean, HAC's got some cool features, but I would sacrifice it for OS in a heartbeat. And yeah, I kinda figured the problems were just with 1.09. Some other people on my Xfire friends list were complaining about 1.10 also being down, but now that I think about it, the ones complaining aren't too technologically inclined...

Also, yeah, it's possible to have multiple Halo installs. I'm not a fan of the idea, because I'm a big organization freak, and I'm just not comfortable with it. I'd rather write down IP addresses and actually use Hamachi instead.

Why are you people saying that you can't use OS and HAC 2 at the same time? And why should we choose between 1.09 OS and 1.10 normal if OS will add all the features that 1.10 has? Of course, I'm talking about when the OS update comes.

Look, I didn't make this thread ya'll could start blabbing about OS and HAC 2. I would just like a simple solution to fix the game. Is there any way I can get back to version 1.09 so I can get the server list to work again?

1.09 is officially down. Gamespy has pulled the plugs.
As in the game can't reach a master server to find the servers to play on.
As in you have to go to 1.10
As in what Nick has already stated in the past.

Created my own game
Set on CTF
Play CTF...... alone.....
Grabbed flag via warthog and score it into my base x3
Game over

I'm totally ok with that. It's easier to just boot up a SP map anyway without having to actually find players for MP.

It's because you have not updated your HCE client to the new 1.10 patch. Disable firewalls and anti-virus then run the appropriate patch.

I did supposedly update my client to the 1.10 patch, but nothing seems to be changing (even telling me that I'm on 1.10). Albeit I did not actually turn off my COMODO firewall, so I'll do that and retry 'updating.'
I do want to mention to you all that joining via direct IP does work. I just played some snipers in Blood Gulch with it. Just go find a server over here: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=66 then type down the address in the client and press enter

For those who say that 1.10 isn't working. It is.

Correct, sos. I got it working this morning.
For those who patched to 1.10 and still doesn't work / show the lists, here's what you do...
Uninstall Halo CE
Reinstall Halo CE
THEN patch it up to 1.10

There's not as much players today as there used to be before all of this commotion. Hopefully, all the players will be back in a few days.

1 - Update to 1.10
2 - Install HAC2
3 - Forgot OS until they realize they are the ones who need to catch up. Personally never interested me.

Gamespy shutting down is a blessing in disguise...

1 - Bungie release a patch for a very old game.
2 - Bungie take over hosting the lobby.
3 - All Halo versions are unified.
4 - Most hacks/cheats got broken.

Ok, I check the v1.10 server lobby today only to find that nothing shows up.

I wept for an hour :'(

Then I came to this old forum to post my grievance.

Is anyone else facing this problem? (as of 29.7.14)
