So I finally decided to get 3DS MAX. And made my account and all (I'm pleasantly surprised I'm legitimately eligible for this thing, too)...

...so now I'm at the step where I need to choose which version of Max I want to download.

Y'all probably know my main goal is to make BSPs (i.e. -the CE3 stage, or this thing I never finished), but I'm also sorta interested in messing around with vehicle modeling and physics.

With this said, out of the different versions Autodesk is letting me get (2012, 13, 14 or 15), which version do y'all think is the best to work with?

2013 is the best.

2013 is the best, 2014 was garbage(bunch of errors when exporting, exports corrupted jms etc), I haven't tried 2015 but you can do a bunch of amazing stuff that the Halo engine can't handle =D

I'm not having much troubles after installing service pack 5 for 3ds max 2014. But maybe my computer is more compatible with it.

2010.

More for nostalgia than anything else.

Also a new license costs as much as a small car, so there's that :P

Alright, I'll play it safe and get the 2013 version then. Thanks, y'all!

Could I recommend you getting 12 since we both work on CE3? M16 also uses 12. It'd just be useful encase we need to switch stuff between

Oh ok. Will do, then. (I already started the download/install process when I first saw your post, but I'll see if Autodesk lets me get 2012, too)

Edit/Update: I aborted the '13 download to do this. Yay, 3.1GB download! :D ....

If you use Adjutant, it's scripts were built for 2013.

They work cool in 2011 =D and sme problems in 2014, but that's with exporting to jms doesn't mean its AMImporter prolly bluestreak.
