Seriously, why look at MY quote of all people?

Hi there, forums. I was wondering if anybody could point me towards some basic modelling tutorials as I have no clue where to start and since I have a lot of free time on my hands and practically nothing to do I would like to take it up as a bit of a hobby.

Thank you all very much for your help, I wasn't expecting to get so many different replies so quickly. I'll be giving all of these a look through during the day and I hope I can learn something from them. Once again, thank you all.

If you're willing to pay a buck or two there's this book called Game Art Complete or something similar that goes over, well, everything in much more depth and with a lot more polish than your average tutorial. I'm going through it myself right now and I'm relearning what I knew before and much more besides.

Failing that my best recommendation besides those above would be to experiment with the various programs. 3DS Max can be daunting at first, but if you mess around with stuff like, say, Wings3D or maybe XSI, things start to become clearer and you can gradually advance to using the more advanced features that Max offers.

Or just use the pdf it's free after all.
