Its basically holding the flag with a pistol. lel.

Probably, just changing 1p/3p models and such and turning the flag into an actual weapon.

Or, you can make the player to put the flag on his back, so you don't have a big red flag on your face while shooting grunts.

this is a H4 tagset im working on so i dont think im gonna do that with the flag.

What you could do is Change the flag with a animation and pistol so that when you pick up the flag you automatically end up with a pistol and you can left click to melee with flag and right click to fire the pistol.

As i said before about the flag and pistol thing couldn't you just set your base to know its a flag that you are carrying even though you have a pistol with it so you could score?

Basically just add in a trigger and a magazine section for the flag.weapon that mirrors the settings found in the pistol.weapon. Give the 'flag' a 12 shot mag (or w/e it has in h4, I dunno) and reference a pistol firing effect. Set the ROF and accuracy, and all that. Then you'd make the FP model of the flag include both the flagpole and magnum, and animate it just like any other weapon. Same for the 3P model. I'd suggest using magnum 3P animations (make the weapon label "hp") then using the IK points in the animation tag to snap the left hand cyborg marker to a marker on the 3p weapon model.

There is an option in the .weapon tag specifically for this. I don't know exactly where but it's in one of the two big groups of checkboxes for weapons. It's something like 'must drop when firing'. It'll be next to some other options like 'must be readied' and 'must be picked up' or something. I'm on my laptop right now so I'll check this for sure on my desktop when I get on it.

You also have to make sure that the ammo within the pistol stays consistent.

I tried this a while back... with dual magnum animations from one of those H2 mod maps. It may seem possible... but once you shoot or throw a grenade, you drop the flag; I haven't continued with it at all for I bought a new laptop but in concept I thought about having a sketchy flashlight trigger system, or melee replacement - that's as far as I got with this before dropping it. (Some may remember me having an X-Fire status regarding this about 14 - 15 months ago. lol)
