For those of you who have Halo CE, I have over 8 friends with the normal halo, and we always play over LAN at school. I was wondering if I got Halo CE and downloaded some maps, could others play on that map through LAN even though they don't even have Halo CE? If anyone has tested this, please reply. Thanks!

It would work as long as everyone has different CD-Keys (I think)

They would need to be playing on the Custom Edition, as well as have the maps. It shouldn't be too much of a problem considering CE is a free download, and just as Atlis stated, you will need to have a different CD key for each system for you all to play together.

Trying CE -> PC didn't work. If the PC Server has SAPP installed, then you can connect to it, but it will boot you out as soon as you join by saying "Network Connection Lost." I'm assuming that PC -> CE would likely do the same thing, but it would never hurt to try.

You'd either need a version changer, or you would need to know the IP Address and port of the server you are running.

And I don't think that LAN Matches need different CD Keys (Either set sv_public to 0, or just Create a LAN Game), but I could be wrong about that one. Not sure.

From personal experience, I know this is wrong. :P
